Hey, everyone, I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at something that I've been using for over a year now. It is the BioLite FlexLight. This is a very versatile light that has a flexible cord to it, so you can mount it to pretty much anything. It has a solar panel for charging. It could be used as a power bank.
There's so much to it. Let's get to it. As a light, you have a pretty bright white light with three different brightness settings, as well as a flashing setting, good for emergencies or to signal your location. And then we turned our lights on so you can better see some of the other features. This is gonna be a very lightweight lantern since you have an internal battery that has 450-milliampere-hour capacity, which translates to about a 1/10 of the battery that I have in my phone.
Now, it doesn't sound like much, but with the efficiency of the LEDs in here, this can last up to 14 hours at its lowest setting. I use it a lot when I'm camping because I can just set this up either around a tree, around a branch, up on a hook, very flexible. And then having all that light for that long of a time is awesome. To charge the battery, you do have a solar panel, and you have ports on this side. So this includes a USB-A-to-USB-C cord, and then there's a USB-C port on this light.
So you can either use the ports to charge it or you can use it as an emergency power bank to charge your other devices. So oftentimes I have this plugged up into the USB cord in my own car to keep this charged, but I also have this hanging on my headrest when not in use. And that way the solar panel is exposed to the sun, and this always stays charged for whenever I may need it. And that's really where the beauty of the FlexLight is, because there are other options out there if you're looking for light output or higher capacity, even BioLite themselves have different lantern options for different situations. This is what I found to be a great supplementary emergency light.
This is always in my car. It has been for about a year. And whenever my phone is really low on battery or I need a little extra light for those different adventures, I grab this. Tried, true, trusted, all of that. Now, when you are looking at the different numbers though, that 450 battery capacity, that 40-lumen output, it's not the brightest or the largest of the options. And we do have those options available here on our site. Check them out when you're looking at camping lanterns, and you'll often see some of my comparisons and reviews of those lights. But I also still recommend taking a look at the BioLite Solar FlexLight purely because of its versatility, it's a great option no matter what you're doing. Whether you're camping, whether you're working on your car, whether you're just out and about and need some extra battery, this is gonna be a great option for you. Something that I like to do is just hook this around my helmet or around myself, and that way it's a hands-free light as well, which could be helpful for different situations. If you have any questions or maybe you're interested in using this or you have used this in other situations, let me know, I'd love to hear all about it. And maybe you can inspire some other people along the way with your review. But today, this was a look at the BioLite Solar FlexLight right here at etrailer. My name's Evangeline. I hope you enjoyed this journey.
