I was a knucklehead and didn't rebuckle my straps after unloading bikes and lost a couple of these. They're impossible to find anywhere else, even directly from Thule - super thankful that eTrailer.com stocks them.
I purchased these as replacements for the rim protectors that came on my VW-brand bike rack. They fit and function perfectly.
I wish I knew these were so pricey when I first received my Thule bike rack, I wouldn't have lost them! Having said that, they are the perfect protection for my bike wheels and how great was it that eTrailer has them in stock. Couldn't find anywhere who could get them to me anytime soon. I won't lose these!
This strap protector is a bit tighter for threading the strap through than the original strap protector that came with the Thule rack. A good thing since it won’t slide off on its own & get lost like the original one.
A bit pricey but an important protective piece.i have to be careful not to lose it again since it can slide out easily if strap is not kept secure when not in use.
