Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this replacement standoff for the Stromberg Carlson exterior RV ladders. This is for a quantity of one standoff. Now, this will replace a standoff on your Stromberg Carlson exterior RV ladder. The ladder we sell separately, it's part number LA-401.

This part here will include one round standoff and the four mounting screws. Basically, the standoff is used to secure your exterior RV ladder to the side of your RV or to the rear of your RV. I did wanna pop up a insert just to show you how the ladder's attached. There's two of the standoffs that'll secure the ladder to the RV. Basically, this block piece is curved in here, is what'll go around the ladder, attaches to the ladder with this screw, and then the other end right here, the plate, and then the mounting screws are what'll attach the ladder to the RV and hold it in place.

This is an aluminum construction. Total length I'm gonna measure from here, not include the black plastic part, so just the length of the standoff itself. If we put a ruler on that, you can see it's right at 12 inches long. But that should do it for the review on the replacement standoff for the Stromberg Carlson exterior RV ladders.

Bought 2 ladder brackets to repair a broken ladder end that got caught and broke. My husband used the brackets and black 1 inch PVC conduit to replace the bottom rung of the ladder. We are pleased with the results of this repair and will no doubt be using etrailer.com for future products, as needed. I am attaching a few photos so you can see the struts and repair job. etrailer.com is very good for finding items needed for your RVs. Definitely recommend there products and their service is outstanding!!

Put two additional pairs on my fifth wheel trailer ladder. Very solid now, does not flex or wobble. Feels much better when climbing. Make sure you can screw to secure points on trailer body if installing extra for stability like this.

Exactly what I needed for additional support to RV ladder since they can be field cut to desired length.

Product is exactly as advertised. I couldn't find the correct length so I bought longer than needed and cut to size. Not the easiest thing to do, but it worked.

Replacement Support Pegs for RV Exterior Ladder
We do have replacement support pegs available for RV exterior ladders, which I have linked for you to look through. In order to choose a compatible replacement, you will want to measure the length of your existing units. For 5 inch support pegs, we have # SPN-416 or # 8535. We also have 12 inch pegs with # SC8531, which includes the hardware as well.

Replacement Ladder or Stand Offs for a Ladder on a 2000 Monaco Diplomat RV
First, you will need to make sure that the support beams that the ladder stand-offs are attached to are still intact and not rusted (if steel) or rotted (if wood). If the bones are good then you would choose the ladder that is the proper height or that can be trimmed to the proper height to work with your RV. It looks like the ladder on your RV does not come down all the way to the bumper (since the motor access is back there). So I recommend # SP502L which is the shortest option available....

Replacement 5 Inch Support Leg for RV Ladder With Round Base
The Replacement Ladder Support Peg for Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder - Round Base - 12" # SC8531 is the aluminum support with 2-1/8 inch round base. We don't have them in the 5 inch length, but you can trim the 12 inch ones to desired length as long as you make a straight cut to put the end cap back on.

Longer Stand-Offs/Support Pegs for an RV Ladder
We have some that are 12 inches long, # SC8531, but none that are 8 inches. You could trim the 12 inch ones though as long as you make a straight cut to put the end cap back on.

Availability of 6 Inch RV Ladder Stand-Off
None of our suppliers offer a 6 inch stand-off, but a 12 inch version is available as part # SC8531. The end cap could be removed, then the stand-off could be cut down to the desired 6 inch length. You'd then reinstall the end cap and be good to go.
