Features to know about

Engages Your Overload Springs Sooner

Gap Between Standard Leaf Spring and Lower Overload Spring

Your factory overload springs can't help until the main leaf springs compress enough to close the gap between them. StableLoad wedges fill that space so the overload springs begin supporting the load sooner, reducing sway, body roll, and the hard suspension movement that can happen after hitting bumps with a heavy camper or cargo.

Works with Your Air Bags Instead of Replacing Them

Running high air bag pressure can shift too much of the load away from your factory suspension. StableLoads keep the overload springs engaged so your suspension continues sharing the work, letting air bags provide leveling support without carrying the entire load by themselves.

Switch Between Loaded and Empty Driving

StableLoad Quick Disconnect

Not every trip calls for extra suspension support. The hinged quick-disconnect wedges pivot in or out with a standard ratchet and 3/8" extension (not included), letting you engage the StableLoads while hauling and return your truck to its normal unloaded ride afterward.

Adjusts to Match Your Suspension

Not every truck has the same gap between the leaf springs and overload springs. Each wedge pack can be configured by removing contact pads, allowing the StableLoads to match your suspension and engage the overload springs correctly.

Bolts On Without Drilling

Installation doesn't require permanent modifications to your truck. Each StableLoad bolts onto the factory overload springs using the included hardware, making it a straightforward upgrade that's ready for years of towing and hauling.

Includes:

  • 4 StableLoad units
  • Necessary hardware

Video Transcript for Review of TorkLift Vehicle Suspension - Towing/Load Leveling - TL39XV

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Torklift stable load suspension upgrade with quick disconnect function. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. Looks like it fits a 2015 through current year Ram 3500, both the two and four wheel drive models. Now that being said, I highly recommend anything you ever get from etrailer, make sure you're always double checking that fit guide.

Keep in mind, sometimes these videos could be years old. They could become outdated and it could fit current newer vehicles as well that maybe just weren't around at the time of this recording. So again, double check the fit guide, please. Now if you're carrying a heavy truck camper, put a lot of weight in the bed of your truck, you may notice more sway, body roll, or bouncing while you're driving. And maybe you don't want to do anything as far as airbags.

Maybe your truck already has lower overload springs designed to help with that, but they don't start working until the suspension compresses enough to actually engage them. So that's where the stable lift comes in by Torklift. Now, it's going to look something like this image. This may not be the exact same image that you're getting, but the design and the function is basically the same. So you're going to be able to spin these plates, these wedges rather, out of the way as needed.

So they'll be on top of each other whenever you get this whole thing built and you can slide some out of the way. If you don't need all of them, there's going to be a pin inside this bag. I left all the hardware in the bag because as you can see, there's just so much. I don't want to lose anything. So basically lots of washers, nuts, bolts, pins, the instructions come with it obviously.

And if you do have airbags, these can work alongside them, but instead of relying on high air pressure, these will help your overload springs and kind of work with your airbags as far as keeping everything level. Now these wedges are designed to fill the gaps between the main leaf springs and the lower overload springs. And that's going to allow those factory overload springs to engage sooner, which means you're putting more of your truck's existing suspension to work rather than relying again on just airbags or something secondary. Now talking about these being adjustable, so you're not going to want that additional spring engagement obviously when your truck's empty, otherwise you're going to be feeling every little bump in the road. So that's why these have the quick disconnect design. You'll simply pull the pin, swing everything out of the way. You can pivot those wedges out of the way and returns that truck basically back to its normal unloaded ride just with the quick couple minutes. Now everything here is stainless steel as far as the hardware and the necessary things that are included. Again, this is for the Ram 3500. I'm Steven with etrailer. If you don't want to tackle the install yourself, scroll down below the photos on the product page and there should be an install locator link. 2018 Chevrolet Colorado
UPS delivered with packaging intact.
L & R Wedges are wrapped separately and labeled. Hardware was contained in a sealed bag. 2 pieces were damaged, easily replaced at the hardware store.
Instructions were reasonably clear, but there is room for improvement there.
Installation :
Installation was on a 2018 Chevy Colorado and straight forward. There is the option of installing the units inboard or outboard. Inboard installation on the Colorado would have resulted in insufficient clearance between the spare tire on the rear units, and the fuel tank on the front. Outboard installation resulted in minimal clearance with the mud flaps on the rear, and contact with the brake line and supporting bracket on the left front. Some backyard engineering with waterpump pliers was required to create adequate clearance.
Use:
Engaging the wedges is not possible with weight on the axle. The truck must be jacked up enough to unload the springs before rotating the wedges into position.
I haven't had a chance to load up the truck and hook up the trailer. I'll provide follow-up when I do.

The wedges do level the truck when loaded up and towing the trailer. The truck must be jacked up to engage or release. They squeek & creek when engaged, but they do the job.

Having been in the auto/truck repair business for over 50 years, I thought this would be a good Idea so I tried it. I could have made my own but it would be a lot of cutting and drilling because it is so many pieces. I used it to add capacity so I could haul my camper that I purchased three states away and had to pick up. I used 2 of the 3 plates because there wasn’t enough room for three. It did very well like that but after I got back I added the 3rd plate figuring I could use the third one by just jacking the truck slightly before engaging. I thought all three woul be needed once the camper was full of water and gear.
I am enclosing a picture of how ti drill the springs with using the vehicles own drill press (screw jack) for changing tires.
I still need to test fully loaded and with all three plates in place.

So far so good, I added the third plate and with grease and the air bags I can get it engaged. I also added one leaf Super Spring and VR front coils for a 3500 clone effect. I deflate the ait bags after I engage the overloads as they are too spongy. Fully loaded with built in generator and 46 gallons of water it sits about one inch higher in the back.

This is the best towing improvement item I have ever purchased.
We purchased a new 2018 Ford F-250 super-crew with the 6.2 gas and had our load leveling, anti-sway hitch professionally installed to tow our 2016 28' travel trailer. We towed the trailer for 1550 miles on numerous trips and it was very uncomfortable. At first I thought it was trailer sway, but soon realized it was the truck trying to point left or right or bouncing up and down every time we hit a dip or bump in the road, no matter how slight. It was truly white knuckle driving.
I searched for the problem and solutions and decided to try the TorkLift StableLoad system. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
We could tell within a few blocks from home the truck felt much more stable and on the highway it was like a different truck and trailer. We just towed the trailer 856 miles and it was an incredibly easy and relaxing drive.
I love that I can engage or disengage the devices so we don't have a stiff ride when not towing.
If I ever install one again I will have someone else drill the spring leafs or at least rent the tool from the manufacturer. I ruined the 2 drills they sent almost immediately by not using enough pressure and using too much drill speed. Once I realized what I was doing wrong I was able to drill the holes using a floor jack to apply pressure as others have described and drilling at the slowest speed possible.
Once the holes were drilled it was very easy to assemble and install the StableLoads.

Installed StableLoads on a 2017 Ram 3500 dually that carries a 4500lb (wet) truck camper and pulls a 24' enclosed car trailer. The StableLoads are easy to engage/disengage depending on load, and have none of the issues common with airbags. In combination with a Hellwig BigWig sway bar, the truck rides well and handles well, even with the high center of gravity with the camper.

I have a 1994 27 ft. Fifth wheel camper that we got in May and I pull it with a 2016 Ford F-150 4x4 supercrew and I had troubles with the trailer starting to sway at around 60 mph at times it was nerve racking. I did some research and found the torque lift stabilizer kit and installed it on my pick up. All I can say is WOW this kit took care of my sway problem 100%. We used it for the first time since installing the kit and it was trouble free and I ran around 72 mph with no problems!! I would highly recommend this kit & shipping was fast!
by:
Outstanding product. The trailer is twice as stable as it was was with the former system and much easier to set up. I would recommend it to anyone needing a leveler/stabilizer system. The added stiffness of the Torklift springload is a perfect combination. Just finished a 3000 mile trib in wind and bad weather with no issues.

Ive always used air bags on my 3500 trucks for my boat hauling business. I wanted to try something different to preserve the ride when unloaded. This product does the job nicely. I gained one inch of lift when loaded and the torklift units active
by:
They’ve done great holding up my camper and ATV trailer. No need for air bags.

As advertised now for this ex medic to install myself. Looks like will be ok with the excellent instructions sent with the kit

2013 Dodge Ram Pickup
Used these on a 2013 Ram one ton dually hauling a 4500 lb truck camper. Truck also has airbags. Problem I had with the airbags when pressured up the truck would porpoise and had side to side sway.
Install of the stable loads for me was four hours. The leaf spring was extremely hard to drill. I only needed one drill bit to do all four holes. Used a lot of oil. Using a little less pressure in the air bags (10 psi less) the sway and porpoise was greatly reduced. Giving me more security in the vehicle set up. I put these on just before a two week trip. I was so glad I did.

Following up after a year. Now have a heavier camper. My set up is airbags, stable loads and rear sway bar. Stablloads greatly improved the overall ride quality.

I run a 2014 F-150XL Crewcab 4x4 and a 5.5 bed. My load capacity and bed length limited what I could haul for a hard-side truck camper. My camper is 1138 pounds.

Not one that believes in lots of modifications and likes simplicity for the average road warrior and outdoorsman, the Torklift StableLoads were the perfect addition.

Before retirement, I was running close to 35,000 annual miles with my truck and camper using it as my commuter lodging. Weekly my commute was 600 miles, not including my intown driving at work with my truck and camper.

I did not have lots of noticeable concerns running the stock suspension but would experience the occasional "high beam" signal from oncoming drivers.

After upgrading to E-rated tires, I drove for close to 6-months before adding the StableLoads. After adding the StableLoads, I lost the engagement of "high beam salute" from the oncoming drivers! I also experienced a more stable ride at highway speeds.

This more noticeable as I would enter curves on Highway 80 over the Sierra Mountain Range that was part of my weekly commute. Without the StableLoads, my little wobble kept my in check with the truck/camper combination. After adding the StableLoads, I realized I was handling turns at speeds more controlled and a higher speed!

I also feel I had improved stability control in snow conditions and a more stable ride on mountain fire roads and trails when out camping.

I do like when my camper is offloaded, the simplicity to disengage the StableLoads returning to my stock suspension as the truck was designed.

I do recommend StableLoads as the first line of adjustment along with E rated tires for a simple upgrade to the suspension.

2015 Dodge Ram Pickup
The Lower StableLoads work great on my 2014 RAM 3500 DRW. I use my truck to haul a 2015 Arctic Fox 990 slide-in truck camper. When loaded my truck is right at the GVWR of 14,000#. The Lower StableLoads now allow my truck to ride level where previously the rear of the truck was noticeably lower than the front. Note: the RAM (Dodge) required drilling the lower leaf-springs. TorkLift offers a tool to assist in the drilling of these holes - it was wonderful! If you need to drill your leaf-springs, borrow this tool. Note also: the tool is supposed to come supplied with 4 drill-bits, so you shouldn't need a separate set. I recommend you give TorkLift a call prior to ordering if you need to drill.

Im very glad I installed the TorkLifts on my 350 Ford. Being top heavy, driving on different road surfaces I know my truck will handle the load without having to worry about it.

2012 Ford F-350 Super Duty
Installed on 2003 F350 long bed with camper package. Drilling springs is challenging. Used a floor jack with a wood block and Milwaukee corded 1/2 drill at low speed and constant pressure with oil. Once drilled parts installed easily. Have driven about 12,000 miles in last year with 3,500 lb dry weight Artic Fox 990 truck camper. Lots of forest service, desert, and logging roads. Running Toyo E range tires. Stabiloaders keep rig level. Very stable on interstate. Would buy again. Torquelift makes fine product in USA.

2015 Dodge Ram Pickup
After using the stable load TLA7310 for almost a year, I am still very happy and satisfied with the product. Easy to install and like being able to engage or disengage the stable loads depending on my load. Mine are installed on a RAM 3500 dually crew cab and I haul an Arctic Fox 990 camper and sometimes trailer a boat with the camper. The ride was greatly improved with reduced amplitude on the floating bumps and reduced sway on turns, but I felt I needed a little bit of lift in the rear. At night I was getting some high beam flashes from oncoming traffic which told me the rear was sagging a bit. I added the F2560 Firestone airbags to my truck which I only need to inflate between 15 to 50 psi to give me about an inch of lift. In my opinion the stable loads and airbags complement each other and work well as a suspension system enhancement to the factory springs. Both products can be "deactivated" with no load which is important to me because I will often drop the camper at the campsite and drive significant miles with no load.
by:
I carry a 3900 lb + or - truck camper on a 2500hd p/u with a total height of just under 12 feet the air bags do a good job but if you inflate them to level the truck they make the truck to bouncy installing the Torklift Stableload I am able to reduce air pressure in the air bags just to level the truck side to side (water tank and slide are on one side) and the Stableloads do a great job of leveling the truck front to back very happy with setup. Very easy install my springs already had holes in them, maybe hour thirty minutes install. I would recommend them.
by:
Still great, really helps. Need to spray a little lube on them now and then.

2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Tow a 5TH Wheel to Florida every year from NY. The addition of the TorkLift made a huge difference in ride and braking. Installed on 2019 F250 diesel, even noticed about 2 MPG increase, assume its because of a leveled load. For those DIYers, spend the money and rent the drilling tool and it will save you quite a bit of time and hassle with the install. I watched a video of a person drilling all four holes in about 20 minutes, without the tools you can spend 30 minutes per hole. Love the fact that they can be disengaged when not towing to go back to a stock ride. cheaper and better than air bags and do not have to worry about the popping while driving down the road.
by:
2002 Dodge Ram Pickup
At first I was a little skeptical on buying these for my 2002 Ram 3500 rattle box with airbags and other enhancements added to stabilize my truck. My camper is a Lance 1161 weighing close to 5000lbs,also included bouncing and swaying all over the road on certain road conditions. Well the ride changed to more of a solid carry and it took my death grip off the wheel when approaching road imperfections and running with cross winds. I am very happy with this Stableload addition. The price is a little high but boy what a better ride.
by:
Just finished installing all for torklift stable loads I was hoping it would solve my problem. I have a dodge 2500 diesel with a slide in camper. I’ve installed air bags, rancho 9000 shocks and then a Hellwig stabilizer. Running 80 lbs
But it was still scary driving like you were on balloons and when a big rig goes by sucks truck over ,very unnerving with my family in vehicle. I drove truck with the new torklift stabilizes and dropped ten pounds each test I’m running 40 psi now in bags and I had a smile on my face as it’s so much more stable. I thought truck would sag but it did not very happy I didn’t think it would work Thanks so much by the way, camper loaded is 2950 lbs.
by:
Significantly reduces sway when slide in camper is on. So good to be able to easily twist the wedge out and improve ride when camper is not on. Installation is challenging when springs need to be drilled as for my installation. I rigged a jack as shown on youtube and did very good on first hole but did not get shut down at the end of it and chipped the first bit(two bits were included.) It was a struggle after that for some reason. Torklift sent 2 more bits when I called for advice but the solution for me was learning to sharpen bits on you tube. When the bits quit cutting I would crawl out and go the grinder. Installed on an 03 Dodge 2500 Diesel.

Dodge Ram Pickup
t works great directions were good for the installation. The installation was done on my ram 3500 dually. I had a double slideout camper on it the camper dry weighed 4500 lbs. all the stuff together brought the gross weight up to just shy of 14000lbs. I just got done with a 7000 mile trip, a lot of it on back roads and a fair amount of it was freeway with some 25 mph side winds. At 55-60 mph in the wind the truck leaned very little and was easy to drive. It is a good system and I would recommend it for this type of service and it is nice to be able to turn it off for a smooth ride when unloaded. Chris

2016 Nissan Leaf
I would buy it again. Installed on 2016 F250 4x4 long bed 4 door

Simple well engineered solution to level truck when towing or carring a heavy load.

It engages the extra leaf springs without a load so the truck does not sag until it hits the springs.

Install was easy, directions were not good, but I figured it out.

Fit an finish was excellent. It included all required hardware which was of high quality.

Nice to be able to engage and disengage as needed, may need to jack truck up to engage and disengage the product.
