I have not yet ordered the Kuat Pivot V3. I wanted to see the quality of the safety pin. Very impressed. I will ordering the V3 Pivot soon.
After back and forth with Kuat, the Bike Shop off Stuart was able to make this pin happen. The Style my Pivot XD came with had to be placed through the top. It had a spring hinge that you keep it from pulling up and out. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with the 35 inch Extreme Tire Package would not allow enough room to put the pin in through the top. The pin has to be put in from the bottom making the spring hinger design susceptible to following out the bottom. The good ole cotter key design will not allow that to happen. Hopefully all the new Pivot racks are coming with this one or both. Sometimes old school is the best.
