Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at a replacement co-op safety pin and cotter pin for the Pivot v3 and XD bike racks. Low profile. So folks, this again is the replacement safety pin and the cotter pin for those co-op pivots. I'll put the item numbers on the screen that this works with, and this gives you clearance when used with oversized tires or truck tailgates.
And it's ideal for vehicles like Ford Broncos, Jeep Wranglers, or Ford Mavericks. So this is going to be a great option, again, when you need space because of those oversized tires, truck tailgates and whatnot. As far as some quick dimensions overall, I got about six and an eighth. As far as the usable space here from the shoulder over here, about five and eight inches. And then as far as the thickness, it looks like this is about five eighths inch thick.

I have not yet ordered the Kuat Pivot V3. I wanted to see the quality of the safety pin. Very impressed. I will ordering the V3 Pivot soon.
After back and forth with Kuat, the Bike Shop off Stuart was able to make this pin happen. The Style my Pivot XD came with had to be placed through the top. It had a spring hinge that you keep it from pulling up and out. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with the 35 inch Extreme Tire Package would not allow enough room to put the pin in through the top. The pin has to be put in from the bottom making the spring hinger design susceptible to following out the bottom. The good ole cotter key design will not allow that to happen. Hopefully all the new Pivot racks are coming with this one or both. Sometimes old school is the best.
