Stay Warm and Hassle-Free: Automatic Changeover Functionality

Say goodbye to the inconvenience of losing your propane supply during a cold winter night. The JR Products Compact Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator ensures seamless LP gas vapor flow from an empty service cylinder to a reserve cylinder. Its automatic functionality keeps your appliances running smoothly without interruption, ideal for those relying on a constant gas supply for comfort in RVs or travel trailers.

Space-Saver for Compact Setups: Sleek Design with Dual-Stage Functionality

If space is a premium in your RV setup, this compact yet powerful regulator is a must-have. The dual-stage system combines high-pressure first-stage and low-pressure second-stage regulators into one efficient unit. This design not only saves space but maintains a continuous low-pressure gas stream to all appliances, without the bulk of traditional systems.

Easy Maintenance and Monitoring: Green-to-Red Indicator Dome

Never second guess your propane levels again. The JR Products regulator comes equipped with a green indicator dome that shifts to red when the service cylinder requires refilling. This simple visual cue allows you to monitor gas supply effortlessly, ensuring you never run out unexpectedly during a trip.

Durability You Can Count On: Molded Rubber Diaphragms and Powder Coated Housing

Designed to endure the elements and frequent use, this regulator boasts molded rubber diaphragms and a robust zinc die-cast body. Its powder-coated housing further enhances its resistance to wear and tear, offering reliability and longevity even through rough outdoor conditions.

Adapts with Your Needs: Versatile Inlet and Outlet Compatibility

Whether you're using hoses with MPT fittings or other setups, the brass inlet adapters on this regulator can be removed for straightforward customization. It features a 1/4" FIF inlet and a 3/8" FPT outlet, making it flexible to adapt to various propane installations.

Peace of Mind with Safety Approval: UL 144 Certified

Safety should never be a secondary thought, and with this regulator, it isn’t. UL approval under UL 144 standards assures you of its safety and reliability. It includes a second-stage relief mechanism, providing an extra layer of protection while ensuring efficient and safe propane use in your RV adventures.

Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the JR Products Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be checking out this automatic changeover regulator from JR Products. What this is going to do is it's going to help you, obviously, regulate the propane in your rig, but it's automatically going to switch over when one tanks down. So right now, the lever's pointed to this tank. When this one reaches its end, it's automatically going to switch over to this one. That way when you come back out here next time, you'll switch a lever over to primarily focus on this one and you can replace this one without worrying about any gas escaping or anything like that but continue to have propane.

Let's check it out.A way it helps you figure out which tank is empty is this gauge here. I'm going to open up this propane and you'll see the gauge will turn to green. Now you know that this one has propane it. So it sensing that it has propane. It's going to be fine.

There's no reason to change the readout. Now, if I flip it over to this one, you're going to watch it slowly switch over and realize there's no propane in this one because I have the valve shut off. With that in mind, just because it's red doesn't mean both tanks are drained. You'll want to switch it over to the other one, you see green and knows this one's full and you're still good to go and you can replace this one now. Now, we worked with two different regulators today. Both of these are from JR Products, but the only difference is this one's a little bit bigger and has extra screw holes.

Otherwise, it's the same thing. Functions the exact same way. You just want to go with the bigger one if you have more appliances that are drawing propane off of it. So like I said, you got way more stuff running off it, you're going to need a bigger regulator to regulate the propane. It's going to help you out with both of your tanks just the same.

Chances are if you're checking this out, it's time to replace your old one. Here's the old one here. We went ahead and removed that, and you needed to do that every 10 years. They recommend it because it's got a rubber diaphragm on the inside that eventually wears out, then you're going to get less pressure. Now, that goes the same with your propane tanks. So if you do them at the same time, that'll work out. If you don't replace your propane tanks and you just get them refilled, up to 10 years it's time to get them reinspected to make sure they're still okay to use. You'll have to take them to a propane place to get them inspected and approved to use.Another thing to think about when you're going to replace your regulator is the hoses that go with it. You want to make sure you get the right ones that have the right connections. We have the inverted connector here. You can see it's smaller than the outside grip, and then we have the NPT connection and you can see that that threaded part matches the outside grip. So that's an easier way to tell just by looking at it and going, "Oh, okay. The bigger one that comes all the way out to the end, that's the NPT, and this is going to be the inverted." If you look at our regulator, it uses the inverted. So you can just come in here and screw it in that way. If we we're going to try and use the NPT, clearly too big. It's not going to thread in there. Looking at the outlet down here, this is going to be sized at 3/8" and it has an FPT connection. So another thing about when going with the lines you're going to be running to it, make sure that matches up with the one that goes to your rig. It's pretty straight forward. That's how the regular works and how you would replace it. But how does it install It was pretty easy. So let's check out how we did it. This is what it's going to look like when you get it. Now, we added a bracket to our regulator that JR Products also offers that's on our website, because the old bracket wouldn't work with our new regulator. It didn't had four screws in it, and the screw spacings didn't match up with this one. This one's an inch apart. So that's something else to look at when you're going to get your replacement. Make sure the bracket matches so you can attach it, that way you can attach it over there too.So first off, I put one screw in there already. Going to simply put the second one in. That way we attach the regulator to the bracket. I'll show you the back of the regulator here in a second. You can see it's got the spaces there where the screws go in. So it's as easy as lining the bracket up and screwing it in. We're going to attach our output hose to the bottom here, the regulator. It's easier to do that before you install the regulator because you can easily just spin it like that and attach that bottom hose. Get it nice and tight. Looks good. Now you can go ahead and set the bracket down on top, because there is a hole just for it and then we'll add our wing nut to hold it in place. Again, want to get it nice and tight. Just going to push down on this bracket and this bracket keeping everything in place. Now we're going to add our other hose. It's easier to screw in this side, which would be our inverted side first, and then attach this side to the propane tank. You're all set. It really is that simple. It installed very easily. It works great. I like that I can switch over to this tank if I need to, but I don't have to. If this tank runs out, it's automatically going to come over here while I'm inside. I don't have to leave the camper if it's cold. I really like that. It makes it easier, and I know I'm covered for the next 10 years. That does it for our look at this regulator. Hope this helped.

Low-pressure 2-stage LP gas regulator ensures a continuous flow of gas to all appliances by combining a high-pressure first-stage and low-pressure second-stage regulator into one unit. Designed for RV applications.

by:

Easy ordering, fast shipping. Haven’t installed yet but it looks like very good quality.

by:

I ordered a couple of replacement regulators from (another site) and although less expensive, they were both light, and cheaply made. In addition, for some odd reason, they made access to the LP pressure control just about impossible. This JRP unit is solid with very easy access to the pressure control which for me, traveling with my RV from Houston (sea level) to Leadville, CO (10,000 feet), and back is a required feature.

We will never put you under pressure, Craig!

by:

It was slightly different from the original, allowing only two screws to bolt onto my existing bracket but it works.

by:

I installed this in my 1999 E350 ambulance-to-camper conversion last year. I mounted two #30 tanks in what used to be the oxygen compartment. It works very smoothly and quietly even with the water heater, fridge and stove on, with no humming or chattering.

by:

Arrived damaged. switch was broken off. Packaging was intact so I think e-trailer received it in a damaged condition.
Can't rate the product until it is replaced and installed. I returned the damaged regulator to you by UPS, but before it could have arrived at your shop, George J. from e-trailer had already shipped a replacement to me and it arrived yesterday. In addition to George's concern over my shipment, I heard from others on your staff including Mike B. and Kailey I. You folks go the extra mile to satisfy your customers. I would rate your customer service at 5 stars for sure.

by:

Nice to have a indicator that changes and is not stuck. New one works properly.

by:

Started leaking out the top 2 months after I installed. Not a good product.

by:

On the advise of customer service I purchased this regulator, bracket, and hoses and it worked perfectly. I had never done this type of installation before.

Works great, the valve is really nice and smooth.

by:

Great help from customer service on which propane regulator to purchase. Easy ordering & part arrived quickly so we could head-out on our next camping trip.

by:

Great product although I requested faster shipment for July 8th and I got it today July 10. Even paid the extra for shipping. Glad it came today cause I leave tomorrow for camping

by:

Great replacement on our kitchen trailer

by:

The regulator was as described. However, it did not include the mounting bracket. When I call Etrailer I was told it did not say it was included. It also did NOT say it was not included.
I was told the bracket was shown on the very bottom of the page.
How many people would think to look further? It should state that the bracket is not included in the description.

The optional mounting bracket that we offer is part # 37207-30405. We have added to the product description page that the bracket is sold separately.

by:

This is much better, more solid, than the original, that was recalled.

by:

Works great but had to modify my mount to fit the new regulator

by:

I own an older trailer and LP regulator was leaking and the company that manufactured the valve was out of business. I called etrailer and they were able to get me one as a replacement never had any issues they know what they are doing here.

On time fast service.

by:

It works as expected. I’m using this somewhat unconventionally as I have two propane tanks hooked to my BBQ. I was tired of running out of gas during grilling so I bought another brand of regulator but my wife accidentally broke the changeover switch. This model seems slightly more robust and the switchover indicator is much easier to see/read. Gas output is good even on reserve.

by:

with product selection and research help from etrailer successfully installed the LP gas regulator. Tested my three burner stove and refrigerator and both work perfectly with the new LP regulator. With my old regulator I battled irregular gas flow. With expert help, easy sales transaction, quick deliver and installation instruction lead to a problem free repair. The regulator worked perfectly. Thank you

by:

very well made, installed easy and no leaks.
previous
purchase made from a different (major) e-retailer leaked when installed.

by:

Replacement was easy and pretty much straight forward. Seems to be working as expected (no leaks and all appliances work) The selector lever is broken (small piece around the base) but, not significant enough that I'm going to wait around for a replacement and send one back. Too much hassle for something that is aesthetic. Likely happened when the carrier crushed the shipping container (looks like from a conveyor jam).
