If your Meyer plow clicks but the pump motor doesn't run, the starter solenoid is a common culprit. This 12V motor solenoid allows battery power to reach the pump so your plow responds when you press the controller.
On a Meyer snowplow, the motor solenoid acts as a heavy-duty electrical switch between your controller and the hydraulic motor. When you press a button on the controller, a small electrical signal activates the solenoid, which then allows high-amperage battery power to flow to the motor. This is what makes the pump run so the blade can lift and angle.
Because it handles high current every time the plow moves, the solenoid is a common wear item. If you hear a clicking sound but the motor doesn't run, the solenoid is often the problem. Replacing it restores proper power delivery so your hydraulic system responds when you need it most.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this Meyer 12-volt Solenoid Starter. Now, this is the main power relay. Basically, a heavy-duty switch that's going to turn your plow or spreader motor on or off. When you hit the controls inside the cab, the solenoid's gonna close the circuit so full battery power can reach the hydraulic pump or spreader motor. Without it, your motor simply is not going to run.
So, this is a 12-volt starter-style solenoid that Meyer uses across many of their snowplow systems and some salt spreaders. If the existing solenoid is failing, people often report symptoms like the motor's not running, or it's running intermittently, or they're just hearing a click when they press the controls. That's because the solenoid isn't completing the high-amperage circuit that that motor needs. This is going to mount under the hood or near the pump, and it has the typical setup, two large posts for the main power cables, and two smaller posts for the trigger wire. This is an OEM Meyer part, meaning that this is the direct replacement from Meyer, so you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues, fitment issues, or anything like that.
Comes with instructions and the hardware that you see here.
