You back up to a lunette ring trailer and realize your setup won't connect, and now you're stopping to rework your hitch. This attachment lets you skip that. Switch between ball and pintle fast, so you can hook up and keep moving.
You've already got your BulletProof hitch set up with a 2-5/16" ball because that's what most of your trailers use, but then you back up to one with a lunette ring and realize right away the setup on your truck isn't going to connect to it. This pintle attachment pins into the same adjustable channel, so you're not pulling the hitch apart or swapping anything out just to hook up. You leave the latch open when you're using a standard coupler, then close it and drop the ring in when that's what the trailer has. It keeps the same hitch on your truck and changes how it connects depending on what you're towing, so you can back up, connect, and keep moving without stopping to swap anything out.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this BulletProof hitches old school pintle attachment with this two and five-16th inch ball. Now this attachment's gonna basically be a two in one towing solution for you. This is going to make it very versatile. You're gonna be able to use this as a pintle hitch or a standard two and five-16th inch ball coupler depending on what you're towing.
That flexibility is great if you switch between different trailers or job types, and you don't wanna swap out your entire setup. Now this is rated for 14,000 pounds of gross trailer weight. So this is built for serious towing, not just the the light duty stuff. So whether you're hauling equipment or heavy trailers or you're working in demanding conditions, this is designed to handle that load confidently. Let me give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to use.
So let's just say you want to use this for your standard ball coupler. Just gonna remove this safety pin and clip. There's a lever here that you're gonna lift up, and then that's going to allow you to lift this top portion up. And then that lever with that latch is gonna keep that up like that. Then you'll drop your coupler over the two and five-16th inch ball.
But if you want to use it for your lunette ring as a pintle hitch, you'll take your lunette ring, drop it over the ball, and then you'll close this back down like so. And then just replace that safety pin and clip, and make sure the holes line up there. I'm just gonna run that through. So that's gonna prevent the latch from coming up and this whole portion's gonna stay closed over that lunette ring. So as you can see, it's gonna be very easy to use this either for one or the other.
The construction is heavy duty cast steel, so this is built to last. It's not lightweight. It's going to be built for durability and long term use, especially in those rough conditions. Let's see if it stays up there on that wedge. Now, if you're already running a BulletProof hitch, this attachment is designed to work with their medium, heavy duty, and extreme duty channel. So compatibility is not going to be an issue. Our attachment holes on center are two inches. Installation's gonna be straightforward and secure. It uses the pin and clip setup here, and it includes these corrosion resistant pin and clips. So you're just going to slide this in the channel, secure it with the pin and clips, and you'll be good to go. Of course, as you know, one of the biggest advantages is for off-road or uneven terrain. The the pinhole mode is going to give you greater articulation, meaning that the trailer can move more freely without binding. That's gonna be especially helpful if you're towing on job sites, gravel roads, rough roads, what have you. I wanted to give you maybe a few measurements here to give you a good idea of the size. What I'm trying to do is line this up from the center of one of the attachment holes there to the center of the ball. We're right at five inches center to center the height at the tallest point, I'm gonna say close to eight inches. So this is gonna be very easy to use. I wanted to point out that you do have kinda like a rubber gasket there that's gonna prevent this from rattling in that channel, but this is gonna hold up really well for you.
