Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the SmartPlug four-foot-long marine power cord adapter, has the 50 amp female to a 30 amp male twist lock connector. Now this adapter'll let you connect a SmartPlug cord set to a twist lock outlet at the dock. Gonna zoom in and show you both connections. This is the 50 amp female connector which will plug into your SmartPlug cord set, and on this end is the 30 amp male connector that'll plug into a female twist lock outlet. Now the SmartPlug end, if you notice on each side it has these dual locking side levers which will snap the plug securely into the inlet, eliminates any stress on the connection.
Does have this nice clear cover that when you're not connected, you can just push this on and that'll keep it connected, locked into place, protect the, the clear snap-on cover protects the connector when it's not being used. Also, if you notice on the inside there you might be able to see, has a nice face gasket that when you do connect this, it'll seal against the inlet sleeve to eliminate any dirt and moisture exposure. On top right here, does have an indicator light. This will light up blue, it'll illuminate blue to indicate if the normal power is flowing. If it does become a red light that means it's a reverse polarity condition.
They do use high quality materials to hold up in extreme climates or out on the water. They use marine grade stainless steel components that'll hold up season after season. Does use nickel-plated brass electrical pins and tin wires to resist corrosion and all the plastics they use are UV and heat resistant. The cable itself is a 10-gauge marine grade cable. It's extremely flexible.
You can see it has a nice bright orange color cable so that you can see it. And this part is made in the U.S.A. Again, the total length on this, overall length if you stretch it all the way out, about four feet. Amperage again on the female end is 50 amps. The male end is 30 amps and the voltage is 125 volts.
But that should do it for the review on the SmartPlug four-foot-long marine cord power adapter with the 50 amp female to 30 amp male twist lock connector.
Very fast delivery & great communication during the whole process!
Worked as described.
Exactly what I needed to be able to use my old 30 amp twist lock cables with the new rv
The SmartPlug is a great innovation, far better and more secure than the old style, twist connectors, and safer for your RV or boat. This new pigtail makes it even easier to switch to the SmartPlug since now there is no need to cut the end of a perfectly good shore power cord in order to adapt to this superior system. Plus you add 4 feet to the length of your cord. This is the second boat I have converted to the SmartPlug system.
Outstanding customer service!
It arrived in great shape. This will allow me to travel with a lighter weight 30 Amp line for my 50 Amp Airstream when I have no need to run both A/C units. For a 4ft cord, the price was disappointing, hence only 4 stars, but it was what I needed, and I am happy it was available from eTrailer. The 50 Amp cords are like carrying a python.
Excellent, fast service, complete with detailed package tracking. I will definitely shop there again.
Came quickly and is good quality.
