Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the Thumbwheel Ratchet. This makes a really handy tool to get into any really tight quarter spaces, or close quarters, to make sure that you can get things tightened down where you wouldn't otherwise be able to fit a wrench. So maybe if we we're working underneath the dash or you're just in between a really close spot, maybe you're trying to tighten something down on top of the frame of your vehicle, wherever you might be working. This does have a half inch drive, so it'll work with any kind of half inch sockets.So let's take a little closer look and see how it works. So you can see we'll just have that ratchet wheel.

So as we're tightening things down, that's what we're going to turn. So you really just have to be able to get your fingers around this guy and then again, we've got that half inch drive. It does have a quick release, so when we press the top, that's going to push out that little piston at the bottom, so we can drop any kind of nut that might be in there that's a little bit more stubborn or to help us to free it off of a bolt that's maybe giving us some trouble.Also the detent helps to keep our socket in place and to change directions, you're just going to turn this little knob in the very middle to get that different direction. It can be a little bit tricky. Sometimes it doesn't want to go.

You have to kind of hold onto it, but pretty easy to use otherwise.Does have 72 gear teeth, and it gives you a five degree sweep. As far as the height of this portion, it's about an inch thick. So as long as you have about an inch and a quarter of space to get that in there, you should be able to get that. Of course, it does also depend on how long your socket is. The whole thing measures about an 1-3/4.

So pretty compact. The width at the widest point looks like it's right about two inches.That's pretty much it for our quick look at the Thumbwheel Ratchet.
