Features to know about

Off-Grid Cooling That Makes Sense For You

You've had summer trips where you soaked up every last drop of daylight. Maybe there were sweaty ridge hikes, sunbaked desert climbs, dirt on your arms, and salt drying on your neck. By the time you crawled into your rig, it was roasting inside, and the built-in fan wasn't cutting it. You probably lay there with the fan on full blast, still feeling like your skin couldn't breathe.

The Velit 2000R cools your space to a temperature your body can recover comfortably in. It runs directly off your battery bank without needing an inverter and pairs with the power system you already rely on. You don't have to trade peace and stillness for campground hookups. Breathe easier, sleep deeper, and wake up surrounded by the wild, not someone else's RV slide-out.

For longer trips, it's best paired with a healthy battery bank and a way to recharge it, like solar panels or a generator, especially if you're camping off-grid for days at a time.

Comfort You Can Control Anywhere

Panel ControlsRemote Control

If you're relaxing under the stars and not ready for bed yet, you can still prep your rig without leaving the hammock. This AC gives you three ways to dial in the temp. Go old school with the onboard panel, use the included remote from your sleeping bag, or embrace technology and adjust it from your phone using the Velit app.

Fewer Parts, Faster Setup, Quiet Cooling

Ductless air conditioners, like this one, move air straight into your rig without needing built-in ceiling ducts, making them ideal for vans, travel trailers, or any setup where simplicity matters. With a ductless system, what you see is what you get: a rooftop unit connected directly to a ceiling assembly that pushes steady airflow into your living space. They're also perfect for adding a second AC to areas that never cool down properly, like an upper bunk or a rear bedroom.

Once it kicks on, it stays quiet. Eco Mode runs at 45 decibels, softer than a quiet conversation. Boost Mode tops out at 58 dB, more like steady white noise. It's quiet enough to hear the breeze, the rain, or whatever weird noises the woods are making, including sasquatch.

Easy Setup With More Room Up Top

Most vans already have a 14 inch by 14 inch roof fan. That's exactly what this AC is built to fit. You're not gonna have to make sketchy measurements and cut into your roof. Just pull the fan out, drop the Velit unit in, wire it up, and you're on to cooler nights. With the gasket, mounting hardware, trim panel, and wiring harness all in the box, you're nearly set from the start.

Profile

The compact, low-profile shape keeps things tight up top too. Its square footprint leaves room for solar panels, storage, or anything else you've got planned for your roof.

Video Transcript for Review of Velit RV Air Conditioners - White 10000 Btu 2000R RV AC System With Remote - VE39QV

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Velit white 10,000 BTU 2000R RV air conditioner system with remote. This 10,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to chill the inside of your Class B vans and trailers without draining your battery bank. Now this efficient 48 volt twin rotor compressor air conditioner system runs directly off of your battery bank without needing an inverter, and it's gonna pair with a power system that you already have and rely on. So you're not gonna have to trade peace and stillness for campground hookups.

Now, in case you don't know, a 48 volt system is more efficient than your 12 volt and 24 volt systems with high load applications like air conditioners. It's gonna reduce the amperage for a given power level, lowering heat and cable size requirements and 48 volts common in solar setups, especially where lithium ion phosphate batteries are used. This system does use the more energy efficient R32 refrigerant that's going to be giving you a more sustainable cooling performance. Now taking a look at the dimensions of this unit itself, looking at the overall length from front to back and the overall width from side to side, we're sitting at 31-1/2 inches square. The overall height is about 7-1/8 inches tall and this weighs about 66 pounds.

So this compact low profile shape is going to keep things pretty tight up top as well. Square footprint is going to help leave room for something like solar panels, storage space, whatever else that you've got mapped out on top of your roof. Now this air conditioner is going to give you up to three ways to adjust and dial in that temperature that you're looking for. I can't show you underneath because of the way that I have this set up on my table, but I do wanna throw a photo up there on your screen showing you that when you do have this drop through the opening of your roof, you're gonna have access to the control panel and vents that are coming through the ceiling on the inside of your camper. So that's gotta obviously be the first way that you're gonna be able to control the settings on this air conditioner.

But taking a closer look here at the components on the side of my table here, you're also going to get this remote. It's gonna also allow you to adjust the settings virtually anywhere inside of your camper. And then you can also use your smartphone with the free app that you can download from the app store of your smartphone. That's going to allow you to control the air conditioner via Bluetooth. So you have three ways that's going to allow you to make those adjustments.

So very easy, very convenient indeed. And once this kicks in, it's going to stay quiet. For instance, on the eco mode, it's gonna run about 45 decibels. That's softer than a typical quiet conversation. Then when you have this all the way up on that boost mode, it's gonna top out about 58 decibels, which is more like a steady white noise. So as I hope you can see, this is gonna be a very quiet running machine that's not going to interrupt you at all when it kicks on. Now most vans do have a 14 inch by 14 inch roof fan already, and that's exactly what this air conditioning unit is designed to fit. So you're not gonna have to make any sketchy measurements and cut into your roof. You're just gonna pull that old fan out, drop this unit in, wire it up and you're gonna be good to go. So let's talk about what you're going to get with this system. Obviously you're gonna get the air conditioner, but you are also going to get everything else that you see here on my table. You're going to get the mounting brackets and the ceiling gasket that you see here. And then you're going to get the mounting hardware and then the interior trim panel. Obviously this is what's gonna be installed in your ceiling to give that control panel of the vents there at the bottom a nice finished look in the ceiling of your camper. We talked about the remote, a 15 foot long wiring harness with inline fuse. And then you'll get the user manual as well to guide you through the installation and operation. So everything that you see here, you're gonna basically be ready to go right out of the box. Now while this doesn't really require any additional components to operate, as you know, it is recommended to have a system in place to recharge your battery bank, such as a solar panel or a generator, especially for extended off-grid use. This unit has been tested to run steady through rough roads, dry heat, and airborne dust. And again, this is gonna be a complete kit, but for van installs it is recommended to use a sealant and you would have to pick that up separately. So again, for van installs and uneven surfaces, but you would not need sealant for flat surface installs, like for instance, an RV roof or something like that. Now we do have this available in black as well that would better match your current setup. We also have other configurations available. So if this isn't exactly what you need, take a look at the other options that we have and I'm confident you're gonna be able to find exactly what you need. But if you do pick this up, we want to hear back from you regarding your experience with getting this installed and using it so you can share your experiences with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. And if you have any other additional questions maybe that I did not address for you today, don't hesitate to reach back out to us either by phone, email, or chat. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

This AC is AWESOME!! Finally a unit for my R-Pod that I can just hook up to a battery! I like to to keep my set-up simple, and this does just that! I like how you can adjust the vents to blow the air where you need it, and it is so quiet too!

Van lifers and truck camper folks are going to love this setup. It runs quietly and puts out strong, consistent cold air exactly what you want in a small rig. I like that the whole thing installs as a single unit with no ductwork, just drop it in and wire it up.

Perfect setup for van builds or truck camper upgrades. The A/C is quieter than expected and delivers great cooling in smaller spaces. The install is refreshingly simple just one compact rooftop unit that fits right into a standard fan opening. No extras needed. The remote is a handy addition too.

I purchased one of your new Velit 12v air conditioners and installed it in my personal demo van. I want to report it was very easy to install and has worked very well for me, albeit limited use so far. But it's everything I had hoped so far. It will almost certainly become my go-to 12v air conditioner when my customers want to go that route.

We installed the Velit 2000R 12V air conditioner in our 2021 RAM Promaster 2500, and it’s been a great addition for our off-grid family camping trips. With two adults, two kids, and two dogs, the van can get warm quickly. We usually camp in BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas or campgrounds where we don't want to be the family with the generator, so finding something that is quiet and efficient was important. It’s pretty quiet inside, allowing us to have normal conversations even with it running nearby, and it’s barely audible outside the van so we don't annoy others in the campground.

In most reasonable temperatures, it cools the van quickly, although it did struggle a bit during a June trip to Moab where it hit 110°F. Thats more on me planning a summer camping trip to the high desert though. It did a good enough job to make it comfortable to at least fall asleep though. One thing we did run into an issue with was my battery bank. Yes, its 12V and very efficient for what it does but my 150AH lithium setup couldn't handle it all night, so I had to turn it off just as we were going to bed and let our regular vent fan run all night. I think 300AH at a minimum is what you should be running if you're looking for all night comfort(Thats my next upgrade). The REDARC BCDC got my battery up and running the next day though so I didn't worry about getting to run the AC the next day.

One big benefit we didn’t fully anticipate was how helpful it would be to run the unit while driving. Our van doesn’t have rear AC, so keeping the back cool for the kids and dogs was a huge plus. It’s also been great for quick store stops or grabbing food or groceries in places where dogs aren’t allowed. We can leave the AC on and know the van stays cool and safe. Even when we’re out hiking during the day, the ability to keep the van comfortable is a major advantage to keeping the kids motivated for more hiking. If you are truly looking to go off-grid or find some awesome campsites that don't allow generators this is a huge addition to making your camping setup a little more comfortable.
