Features to know about

A Matched Kit That Simplifies the Install

When you're replacing your unit or setting up a rig for remote work or rough travel, the last thing you want is to guess which parts will fit. This kit gives you everything you need: a rugged, high-output rooftop unit, a ducted air distribution box, and a digital thermostat, all designed to work together. The ADB even comes with detailed, illustrated instructions so you can get it installed right the first time.

Cooling Power for Bigger Jobs

With 15,000 Btu of cooling power, this system moves air through your ceiling ducts to cool larger RVs or drop the temperature fast in smaller ones. Whether you're parked on a dusty work site or tucked deep in the backcountry, it's built to keep delivering steady cooling. So, you walk in and the air feels dry, cool, and breathable, just the way it should.

Built for the Rough Stuff

Most rooftop ACs are designed for highways and campgrounds. Coleman-Mach's Roughneck units are different. They're braced and reinforced so they don't rattle apart when the road gets bad. A stabilizer ties the compressor and coil into a solid frame, the coil housing is steel instead of plastic, and a reinforced basepan keeps the whole unit from flexing. Add it all up and you get a unit that stays together through the vibration, bumps, and jolts that come with off-road travel.

Easy, Accessible Control at the Ceiling

The air distribution box gives you control right at ceiling level. Open the louvers for direct cooling into the cabin or close them to push air through your ducts. The slim, low-profile design gives you more overhead clearance, and the swing-open grille makes it easy to reach and wash the filter. No tools needed. Just pull, rinse, and snap it back into place.

Add Heat for Chilly Mornings

When the temperature drops, this system can be upgraded with a 5,600 Btu heat strip (sold separately). It's a quick way to take the chill out of the air without firing up the furnace, making it handy for shoulder seasons and early mornings.

Video Transcript for Review of Coleman-Mach RV Air Conditioners - Roughneck Mach 15 Ducted System Textured White - CM75RR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Coleman Mach Roughneck Mach 15 15,000 BTU ducted RV AC system with this textured white shroud. Now, one of the biggest headaches in RV repairs is figuring out which parts are compatible with one another. This kit is going to help take all of that off of your plate. This rooftop AC unit comes with an air distribution box, a control box and thermostat along with the hardware that you're gonna need to get this installed. So everything is designed to work together and if you're doing the install yourself, or maybe you've got somebody else doing it for you, this is going to make the installation go a lot cleaner, a lot smoother, and hopefully a lot faster and take a lot of stress off of your plate.

Now this roughneck series is specifically designed for those harsher environments. So if you travel in areas with extreme heat or lots of dust or on rugged roads, this unit is made to hold up better than your standard RV AC. And this has a sturdier build and reinforced components, So this isn't going to get rattled apart as easily on those bumpy back roads. This is made for RVs with ducted air and with 15,000 BTUs of power, this is gonna give you about 10 to 12% more cooling power than a 13,500 BTU unit. That's gonna be helpful for your larger RVs or campers.

Think 30 feet and larger and especially if you've got slide outs or if you're consistently in those hotter, more humid climates where that extra capacity is gonna be great to keep your RV more comfortable inside. Now inside of this unit are large coils and airflow boosting fins that are gonna help pull that heat out more efficiently so your RV's gonna stay cooler with less strain on the system. Looking at some measurements, looking at the overall width, we're about 27 and a half inches wide or so. The overall length from back to front, we're sitting at about almost 38 inches long. And then the overall height, it's gonna be about about 14 inches tall.

This is gonna work on your standard roof opening on your RV or camper of 14 and a quarter inches by 14 and a quarter inches. And this unit weighs about 85 pounds. So this does feature a streamlined, medium profile textured white shroud that I think is gonna do a pretty decent job of helping to reduce drag as you're going down the road. That textured finish, you can maybe hear it just slightly with my fingernail scraping on it so it's not smooth or glossy, but it is textured, kind of like a matte finish to it. So I think that's gonna hold up really well for you.

And if you notice the cover has a little bit of give to it and it's not like rigid or hard like other RV unit shrouds that I've seen. So I think it's going to hold up pretty well since it has give. If you accidentally run into something or hit something, I think that give is gonna help and it's not going to crack or get as damaged as easy. And I think that white color is going to go with most modern RV aesthetics. We do have this exact system in with the black shroud as well on the AC. So if white isn't what you're looking for, but black would go better for you, take advantage by looking at those options that we have here. Now let's take a look at this side of my table here real quick. I want to go over the components briefly. So we have an air distribution box here that's going to give you it airflow through your ducted system. You're gonna be able to open up these louvers here if you want the air to come out of this box directly or close them to force that air to go through the duct work in your RV or camper. And this does have air filters here that can be easily cleaned or replaced, but if you do clean 'em, if you get 'em wet, just make sure you let them air dry completely before you put them back in your air distribution box. Hardware is included. You're gonna get the bolts here to bolt the AC down and the additional hardware to wire in your components. You got the control box here, which is basically the brains of the operation that's going to be included along with this thermostat that's going to allow you to easily control the settings of your AC unit. Going over some measurements here, looking at our thermostat here, this is gonna be about four inches tall, two and a half inches wide and about one inch thick. You are gonna get the hardware with this thermostat so you can easily install this. Look into measurements of our air distribution box, about 20 inches long and about 19 inches wide. And this is going to stick down from your roof, I'm sorry, from your ceiling inside of your RV by about one and a half inches or so. So it's not gonna take up a whole lot of head space. So everything that you see here you are going to get with this kit. I also wanted to mention that this does use the new R 32 refrigerant and because of that, this system will not be backwards compatible with any AC systems from 2024 or earlier due to that new R 32 refrigerant that meets the 2025 EPA regulations. So that's why it's good that you're getting this kit because everything is designed to work with that R 32 refrigerant. Now, one other thing I wanted to mention. Sometimes it's not cold enough to run your furnace, but it's a little too chilly just to, but it might be just a little bit too chilly to be comfortable. Well, this system is prepared or prepped rather to have a heat strip installed in it. And that's gonna be a simple way just to kind of take the edge off of those in between mornings where again, you don't need the furnace, but yet there's still a chill in the air. If you're interested in taking a look at that heat strip, I do have the model number there and you can just take that model number, pop it in the search field on our website, that will take you to the heat strip, you can take a look at it, you can add that order if you want, and that's gonna be a relatively easy install in this AC unit. Now, if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this kit or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

  • Difference Between Coleman-Mach Roughneck Mach 15 and Signature Mach 15
Hey Bill, great question! The Signature Mach 15 is your standard AC unit which is probably what you want. The Roughneck has a fortified interior making it ideal for off-road and heavy industrial vehicle applications. Basically it is made to take more of a beating. If you had an old carrier and it is wearing out from use over time (I'm guessing that is the case here) the Signature is what you want. If you have been off-roading with your trailer lately and it killed off the Carrier then...
