With the 2 receivers that you get with the SuperHitch Hero, you can tow a trailer and carry a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. And if you have a truck bed camper, this hitch has pre-drilled mounting points for TorkLift's super-sturdy camper tie-towns (sold separately). You can also add one of TorkLift's SuperTruss hitch extensions (sold separately) to extend the top receiver so that it clears your camper, allowing you to tow your trailer while your camper's installed.

Truck Bed Camper Compatibility

TorkLift is known for their truck camper tie-down systems and other camper accessories, so it just makes sense that they would have camper enthusiasts in mind when designing a trailer hitch. Each SuperHitch is built with integrated mounting points for TorkLift camper tie-downs, making it easier than ever to get a quality tie-down system for your slide-in camper.

TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

The dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch also makes it easy to tow with your truck bed camper in place. The SuperTruss line of hitch extenders is specially designed to extend the hitch receiver back far enough to clear your bed-mounted camper. Each SuperTruss extension forms such a solid connection with the hitch that the setup is able to maintain a relatively high towing capacity. The SuperTruss can also be used with standard weight distribution systems. As a result, you can clear almost any truck bed camper and still effectively tow a trailer.

Dual Receivers for Maximum Versatility

With the SuperHitch from TorkLift, you can tow your trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. This is thanks to the dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch.

Most trailer hitches have a single receiver. Typically, you can find an adapter or extension piece that will slide into your hitch to give you 2 receivers, but these adapters dramatically reduce both your towing capacity and your tongue weight, limiting how much you can tow, as well as how much you can carry with a bike rack or cargo carrier. This SuperHitch, which mounts beneath your factory hitch receiver to provide the dual receivers, is specially constructed to maintain a high weight capacity so that you can use the 2 receivers without sacrificing towing or carrying ability.

Video Transcript for TorkLift Breaks Down the SuperHitch and SuperTruss

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from Etrailer, and today we are in Elkhart, Indiana at the RV Open House where we have quite a few of our vendors that we're gonna take a look at some of their products and some of their offerings and get a nice close look at them. I'm with Tyler from Torklift. Hey, everyone. Now I've installed quite a few SuperHitches. These are, well, some of the biggest hitches you can put on a truck, but for good reason. A lot of times you're gonna have your camper tie down points for those in-bed campers, and with in-bed campers, a lot of times they're gonna extend.

Exactly. So what if I wanted to tow a trailer along with that Yeah, so going in-depth, I mean just the overarching, if you are hauling behind a camper, you wanna make sure you're being safe, right And so that's one of the reasons why we wanted to come out with a heavy duty towing solution. Now you mentioned cab-over campers. There's a lot of overhang. And so, there are extensions on the market, but let me go over the key differences that our product has.

So you can see in this image there is a lateral support safety chain. This is a patented system. And that really is a game changer when you're hauling, especially heavy loads. So you'll find with our extension system, it's the highest rated that is available on the market. Now, keep in mind, to use our SuperTruss and to achieve our weight ratings, which you can see, you can achieve 14,000 pounds on an extension, that's unheard of with an extension system.

And how we're able to achieve that is the SuperHitch. And so, here you can see that we have the Torklift SuperHitch. Now, this is custom fit for your vehicle. We always aim for a direct bolt-on fitment application, and the way we're able to achieve those high capacities is a dual receiver system. This allows us to have that support truss on the bottom as well.

And you can see that provides ample weight rating for what you're trying to do here. Because a lot of people with cab-over campers, they, maybe they have a horse trailer, or they're towing their race car behind their camper, some precious cargo. So you're gonna wanna make sure that you go heavy duty with this stuff. And so, vehicle-specific hitches allows you to hit the SuperHitch and hit those capacities. Now, we have different lengths, 21 to 60 inches. And the way you determine it, there's two ways to do it. Number one is to simply measure from your receiver hitch to the overhang of the camper. The other way to do it, because sometimes people have not purchased the camper yet, which makes sense, you always want to outfit the truck before you make the purchase. The way that you do that would be you measure your truck bed from the bulkhead to the rear, and then you'll take a secondary measurement, which is the floor of the camper to the rear of the camper, and then you would simply just subtract the two. Now we don't cover every single inch option, right So that is when it's up to you, but you want to keep in mind, when you are extending out, you have your extension, you're gonna also have your ball mount, and then many times, which we recommend, a weight distribution system. So from there, keep in mind that it's not gonna be directly, let's say, a 21 inch extension because you have the the adapters here as well, okay And then the other thing is it's okay to have a little extra, and it's okay to be a little under, but just measure your ball mount, measure the head of your weight distribution system, have all that in mind because then you also have the tongue of your trailer, right So keep all that in mind. But with those two options, that will get you all squared away for the SuperHitch and SuperTruss system. So some serious capacities, and I love in-bed campers, but, you know, being able to tow, there are gonna be some things. This solves those problems. I mean, looking at the engineering of it, a dual-hitch receiver, having the support, having the chains, it's extremely heavy duty, but for good reason. You guys can haul some serious loads. So, as you mentioned, if you're wanting to camp at the racetrack, or when you go to those horse events, you can do that. And getting the SuperTruss in conjunction with the Magnum SuperHitch, great option. Absolutely. Now one thing to keep in mind is when you go with the SuperHitch system, make sure that you get the rear tie downs if you do have a truck camper because the rear tie down part number changes depending if you have a SuperHitch or not. So try to make that decision if you're going to be doing some towing behind your camper before you outfit your truck. That's a great point. And that's, use our fit guide on etrailer.com to make sure you're getting the proper fit. As he mentioned, they're all custom fit, but you have to input the proper, well, measurement of your truck and the proper trim to make sure you're getting that. So yeah, Tyler, thank you so much for breaking down for the SuperTruss extension. Thanks, Brad.

  • Will a Weight Distribution System Help w/an In Bed Camper and a Motorcycle Carrier?
Hey Kyle, thanks for the picture! Cute dog!! A weight distribution system like item # BXW1000 connects to a trailer's tongue and transfers some of the weight from the tow vehicle's rear axle to the front reducing tongue weight. Unless you are planning on hauling your 2024 XSR700 motorcycle behind your Tundra on a trailer there is nothing a weight distribution system will do for you. The TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension item # TLE1521 will only be able to extend out the receiver of...
