This Curt Class II hitch is built for light towing and everyday utility. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight limit of 350 lbs, it’s ready for small campers, boats, or cargo carriers. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening gives you the right fit for Class II ball mounts, bike racks, and storage platforms without needing adapters.

The hitch’s square-tube design is made from fully welded steel for solid strength on the road. A gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base coat, so it holds up against rust and wear. It’s a hitch you can count on to stay sturdy and look sharp even after years of use.

Great product and service

by:

Awesome no issues highly recommend

The product is great but the packaging sucks. This is the third order from Etrailer and every time the packaging is damaged and part of the item is sticking out. One item was damaged and had to be returned. Needs beefed up packaging because the sharp corners of the product end up protruding out of the package. This time one of the protruding pieces of metal scratched our porch.

bolted up pretty easy
had to drill 2
holes that were not easy to get too
The Buick sits pretty low

I am impressed with the quality and ease of installation

This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver was installed on a 2004 Buick Century. The hitch itself is the highest quality construction I have seen in a long time. The finish product is first class. No problems at all to install, instructions was detailed and right. This was my first order to etrailer. Everything went perfect. I placed the order on a Sunday night, my hitch was delivered on Wednesday. Everything I ordered, the hitch receiver, the drawbar, pin and clip was all there, ready to be installed. They sent me a e-mail to follow up about my order. I really like that etrailer shows they care about their customers and their products they sell. Great hitch, great company. Thank you.

The trailer hitch I bought from etrailer fit perfectly and functioned well. It was made of high-quality Steel so, I felt secure in pulling a trailer with a heavy load. Soon I will need to order another trailer hitch for a different vehicle and would totally use etrailer again . Thank you

by:

This is a direct fit for my 05 Buick. Installed immediately.

This is the second one I have purchased from you. The first was excellent, easy to install and I'm sure this one will be also. To make it even easier I ordered the wiring harness also. I will have to tell you later how it went since I just received it. I was surprised how fast it came. Thanks

Works fine. No problem

Overall, a solid, well-made hitch. Installation is a bit tricky, and you'll need a torque wrench good to 110 ft-lb. I suggest tightening bolts progressively so everything settles into place right.

The supplied exhaust spacers are incompatible with a 2005 Buick Lacrosse, and the diagram of exhaust hardware in the instructions is wrong. I was able to reinstall the factory hangers without spacers, but just barely. There is maybe 1/16" clearance between muffler and hitch bolts. If you need to lower the exhaust for clearance, you'll need to buy some 4-hole exhaust hangers.

  • Bumper and Ground Clearance on Hitches for 2008 Buick LaCrosse
When installing a bike rack, bumper clearance is important. Two important measurements are hitch pin hole on receiver to end of bumper and hitch pin hole on the bike rack to the closest point of the rack. For bumper clearance, when we installed this on a 2009 Buick LaCrosse, the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the bumper was 6" with the Draw-Tite # 36374. I attached a picture for your reference. As for ground clearance, the measurement from the top of the receiver to the...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation to Clear My Bumper with the Curt Hitch # C12239 on a 2008 Buick LaCrosse
When considering whether you have enough shank length on a bike rack to clear your rear bumper, the only way to know for sure is by measuring the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside surface of your rear bumper. We unfortunately do not have that measurement available for the Curt # C12239 when installed on your vehicle. However, since we do have that measurement available for the Draw-Tite # 36374 on a 2009 model Buick LaCrosse, you most likely do not have enough clearance length...

  • Availability Of A Class 3 Hitch For A 2002 Buick Century
I do have an option for you, but we do not carry a class 3 hitch for a 2002 Buick Century. The only hitch available is a class 2 hitch like the # C12239 which has a 1-1/4" square receiver and a 3,500 lb towing capacity. You can absolutely still use this hitch for a small trailer. You will simply need a ball mount to go with the 1-1/4" hitch. For that I recommend the Curt starter kit # C45147 which comes with a draw bar, pin and clip and a 2" trailer ball. We also offer the 4 flat wiring...

  • Installing the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2005 Buick LaCrosse
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12239 is a confirmed fit for the 2005 Buick Lacrosse. You will use a fishwire to move the carriage bolts and spacers though the access holes in the frame rails to their location. There is a template for drilling two 1/2 inch holes in the side of the frame rails. Then you just will torque the bolts to specs. I've attached the instructions to assist.

  • Recommended Parts to Tow a Small Trailer with a 2009 Buick LaCrosse
We have everything that you need to get towing with your 2009 Buick LaCrosse. For a trailer hitch I recommend the 1-1/4" Class II Curt # C12239 because we have found the Curt trailer hitches typically have better welds and a thicker powder coat than other options. This contributes to a longer lifespan of the trailer hitch which in turn raises the quality of the hitch. Since you're needing to tow a smaller trailer you'll also need wiring to activate the trailer lights and for that I recommend...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For Carrying Cargo Carrier With 2002 Buick Century
I have a different option for you, but the only trailer hitch receivers confirmed to fit your 2002 Buick Century all have a 1-1/4" receiver. With that said I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12239 you were looking at as it is a confirmed fit for your Buick, and with it being made in the USA you can be assured that it is a quality hitch. Now it looks like you were looking at hitch mounted cargo carriers. I recommend going with the...

  • 2005 Buick Lacrosse Hitch Capacity for Using Hitch-Mounted Wheelchair Carrier
The hitch you have installed on your 2005 Buick Lacrosse is a 1-1/4-inch Class II type like those shown on the linked page. The highest capacity option is the Curt # C12239 which offers a 350-lb tongue weight (TW) capacity; the others are rated for 300-lbs. Your hitch will have a safety sticker that indicates its TW rating. This means that with this Curt hitch the combined weight of your chair and carrier cannot exceed the hitch's 350-lb rating, or the car's own TW rating, which could...

  • Does the Rear Fascia Need To Be Trimmed When Installing Curt Hitch # 12239 On 2008 Buick LaCrosse
The rear fascia trimming may be required when installing the Curt Class II 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 12239, on a 2008 Buick LaCrosse Super. The Super model is the higher-performance model of the standard LaCrosse sedan. It has a rear fascia that extends farther down than the standard LaCrosse rear fascia. The standard Buick LaCrosse does not need to have any of the rear fascia trimmed. The installation instructions on the # 12239 hitch say it may require trimming on the LaCrosse Super...

  • Ramped Wheelchair Carrier for Use on 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue
Your 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue can be equipped with 1-1/4-inch hitch of either a Class I or a Class II rating. In order to use a wheelchair carrier your hitch will have to be a Class II type. A Class I hitch will not likely have the capacity to handle the weight of the chair and the carrier. The weight of both together must remain within the hitch's and the car's tongue weight (TW) limit. There will be a sticker on your hitch to indicate its class rating and tongue weight capacity. The...
