The rear fascia trimming may be required when installing the Curt Class II 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 12239, on a 2008 Buick LaCrosse Super. The Super model is the higher-performance model of the standard LaCrosse sedan. It has a rear fascia that extends farther down than the standard LaCrosse rear fascia.
The standard Buick LaCrosse does not need to have any of the rear fascia trimmed.
The installation instructions on the # 12239 hitch say it may require trimming on the LaCrosse Super model. It does not show where it has to be trimmed because it can vary on each vehicle. There is no certain amount that has to be removed (if any).
I am including a link to the installation instructions on the # 12239 hitch.
