When considering whether you have enough shank length on a bike rack to clear your rear bumper, the only way to know for sure is by measuring the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside surface of your rear bumper. We unfortunately do not have that measurement available for the Curt # C12239 when installed on your vehicle. However, since we do have that measurement available for the Draw-Tite # 36374 on a 2009 model Buick LaCrosse, you most likely do not have enough clearance length when using the Thule Camber 2 # TH9058. This is because the Curt Hitch models usually do not deviate far from the Draw-Tite models as far as where the hitch installs. With the Draw-Tite # 36374, you need at least about 6 inches on the shank of the bike rack.

For a great alternative that definitely will provide you with enough clearance, I recommend the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S63400. The Titan is a great choice because it has a super long shank that measures 11-1/4" from the pinhole to the closest part of the rack. With this length, there won't be an issue with bumper clearance when using the Curt # C12239 on your 2008 Buick LaCrosse. I went ahead and attached a demo video that shows the Titan 2 installed on a 2011 LaCrosse to provide you with perspective. To secure the rack to your hitch, I recommend using the locking hitch pin # S64029.

If you happen to have women's bikes, children's bikes, or bikes with step-thru frames, you need to purchase a bike frame adapter bar # 64005 for each of those bike styles. This bar provides your frame with a straight, horizontal plane required to attach to the arms of the Titan.
