When temps drop, you don't want to deal with your equipment fighting you. This custom-fit block heater warms coolant so oil and diesel stay fluid and your Caterpillar engine is ready to start and get to work in the cold.
Last winter, cold mornings meant slow cranks and long warm-ups. This block heater keeps coolant warm so your engine starts quick and avoids the wear that cuts engine life. At 1,000 watts/120 volts, it delivers steady heat for reliable starts and faster warm-ups without the long idle.
Universal heaters can be a headache because they often require modification, but this one is made for a range of Caterpillar industrial and tractor engines. It replaces the water jacket access plate on the right rear of the engine. That means no trial and error or modifying parts to fit, just a straightforward install. If you don't know your engine number you can find it stamped (not cast) into the side of the engine block, often near the carburetor or on the bell housing flange. Some models may have it stamped into the engine shroud. You can confirm fit by looking at the Compatible Models/Engines list in the Specs section below.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at the Zerostart engine block heater for Caterpillar engines. Now this is a block heater that's designed to make cold weather starts a whole lot easier on your engine in those freezing temperatures. This is going to keep your engine coolant warm so that your engine's gonna fire up quickly instead of struggling to turn over. That's not only going to save you frustration on those cold mornings, but it's also gonna help protect your engine by reducing the extra wear and strain that comes from those cold starts. Now as for compatibility, this is going to work with several Caterpillar engines, including the ones that you see there.
And so I do have that information there for you listed so you can more easily see that. And we do also have it listed on this product page as well if you need to refer back to it. Installation location is gonna vary depending on the engine, but it is designed to fit where it should without any extra fabrication. So this is gonna be a solid purpose-built unit, no modifications needed. This is made, again, for those specific engines, rather than being a one-size-fits-all solution.
And this is going to put out 1000 watts of heating power on a standard 120 volt connection, which is gonna be plenty to keep the coolant warm even on those harsh winter conditions. And this comes with this 12 foot long silicone power cord that's built to handle heavy use. As you can see, the cord is removable, I do have this removed from the heater just to show that to you, so that's gonna make storage easier, but if for whatever reason this cord happens to get damaged, you can replace the cord and without replacing the whole heater, so that's a great option as well. So overall, this is gonna be a practical upgrade if you run equipment in those cold climates and you want easier starts, less engine stress, and better long-term reliability from your engine. If you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this heater or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out.
We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
