With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.
The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.
When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.
Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.
Simple, Custom Installation
This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.
Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.
B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer.

Square ball base won't turn in hitch.Great hitch! I'm a pretty avid do it yourselfer so I did the install myself and it was relatively simple. The directions that came with the hitch had all the information I needed. It works well with my trailer and the quality seems to be pretty good. It's pretty low profile while you're not using it as well. Overall very happy with it. A couple of install notes for squarebody Chevy, GMC trucks which is what I installed mine on: You will need to lift the bed off the frame just enough to slide the hitch between the bed floor and the top of the frame rails so if your truck is rusty like mine, you may want to have new bed mount hardware on hand before you start in case you have to cut the old bolts to get them out. Also, the safety chain loops land right on the ridges in the bed floor so they don't recess completely flush even when they're not in use but so far it hasn't been a problem for me. I saw that mentioned in some other reviews on here so I already knew before I bought the hitch.
Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service.
However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well.
B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.
Overall this Installation went as I anticipated, 4-5 hours; it's not for an unprepared amateur. I strongly recommend watching the Installation Video, but more importantly, disconnecting the wiring harness (from both sides, there's 3 connectors) that cross over the rear cross member above the Differential. Disconnecting the rear exhaust was a MUST DO for us (my son helped me) as is a second person. Patience was our friend during this entire Installation for both of us. The brake line that crosses over to the passenger side was of concern to me, and got in the way as well; in the end it is below this entire installation. However there is a Mount Block on the driverside that creates a problemwith getting one bolt into place; a "Fishing Spring" (spring wire that wraps around the threads with long tail to fish/thread/pull thru the hole) would have helped to get this into place. (SEE PICTURE) Once in place the head is able to be held with a narrow spanked wrench while tightening. The rear center bolt is a HUGE challenge to reach once everything is in place and you're torquing things to spec.I had to purchase a "3/4" Crowsfoot" to get this and some of the others because of things blocking access with a socket (not talked about in the video or Installation Video). Once everything is in place and Reconnecting electrical plugs we found that there was enough gap/spacebehind the Kit Rear Cross Bar, over the vehicle rear cross member, to run the driver side electrical. Pay attention to have the "male" plug facing inboard to give you enough slack to reach the passenger side plug. A couple of zip-ties were needed to keep this inplace. See picture for how I routed this and the vent tube to avoid the heatshield.
I've got a 26 foot Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV Trailer that I be using this, along with an Andersen 3217 hitch. With this B&W Hitch I don't have the 5th wheel Rails across the bed full-time anymore of my 2022 Ram 1500DT 4x4.
Excellent product for my application. Iam Using a Anderson Hitch to pull a 5th wheel. Leave it in or take it out if you need more bed room

Installation was very easy. Everything lined up perfectly. I did not need the inner brackets. I have a 2019 Ford f250 platinum. Absolutely amazing. Another great B and W hitch!!
Has been working well. Although it's a DIY project, I had it installed by my mechanic. Did an excellent job and I've not had any issues. As this is only 1 year old installed, I give 4 stars. Still solid in bed and looks good. Hauling my 14k 5th wheel has been much easier than installing a 5th wheel hitch and losing bed space. I would recommend this product.
Ok first off. The paint adhesion of any b&w product is probably the worst I've seen for the money. The paint is the first thing that falls off.
That being said if you know that already and take some precautions like I did then you can really easily fix this problem.
I sandblasted the back half of my frame and did the 3 step por-15 method on everything. I currently live in Indiana and I do seldomly drive it in the winter but I hate rust and will be moving more south shortly.
I por-ed every part that came with the hitch. Every bolt and nut got anti-seize. The bolts are also of basic quality and will rust fast. Anything that was metal on metal contact has a layer of marine grease to prevent the from from rusting in between. I'm extra but I felt that this was the only way to go to protect everything. It's still a great product and hasn't let me down yet.
I bought this hitch for my 2014 Ram 1500. I love it. I've had a few gooseneck hitches in my life and this one is my favorite. I love the fact you can unlock the ball in the bed without jumping in and out. Just turn the key provided and turn the ball over. If I replace this truck down the road, I will be ordering this hitch again. Great hitch, strongly recommend.
The B&W turnover ball system is the cleanest and most well thought out way to install a gooseneck ball into any truck on the market. while etrailer warned me that the firestone air spring kits (f2025) couldnt be used with an in bed hitch, they actually can and work in wonderful harmony. installation was a breeze. I would highly recommend both systems. as a sidenote, i needed this system delivered to me quickly around a holiday and etrailer came through!
I bought this for my son, who moved back to the farm, and bought a good used 2002 Chevy duramax so we would have a second truck to pull cattle trailers and haul hay with a fifth wheel flat bed trailer. The B&W underbed turn over ball hitch mounted great and relatively easily. It has performed excellently. My son likes the turn over ball that allows for full use of the pickup box for other uses.
Shipping was super fast and the Product was exactly what I was looking for. Fits flush with the bead and out of the way for anything you decide to haul. And the ball is stored in place without having to keep it somewhere else. Only issue I had was with Chevrolet. They had one of the nuts welded in crooked and I had to do some adjusting on one of the holes. Everything else was perfect. Very well made and instructions are pretty decent. This is my second B&W GN hitch from Etrailer. 1st is over 2 years and this one is a year. Both have worked almost flawlessly. Only issue I have is that the ball release latch on this last one is really difficult to get to stay latched open to turn the ball.
The B&W hitches are the best in the business. I have had 6 of them now from a 92 Dodge, an 07 Dmax, a 2012 HD2500, a 15 Dodge, a 19 HD2500 and a 21 Dmax and now this latest one in an 06 HD2500. I HAVE HAF ZERO ISSUES WITH ALLBOF THESE HITCHES. ZERO!!!!!!!!!.

This B&W hitch preforms perfectly, my Companion Hitch slips right in and away we go, also it was very easy to install with having the template for the ball cut out, I also hook right on to my goose neck straight ball. Release mechanism works great. I keep a little lubricant applied to help it from seizing up when I'm not using it, awesome hitch, I've had a B & W Hitch for 24 years in two different trucks.
Items received in 2 days and packaging was in good shape. I was fortunate enough to be able to install the hitch and harness where I work using our lift which made installing way easier. But, it could be done on the ground. I have an 8 foot bed so I only had to lower the tailpipe to allow just enough room to install the front crossmember. I used 2 lady slippers to help line up the bulky hitch plate which In my opinion was the hardest part of the assembly. Between hitch install and 7 way extension, start to finish it took me a little over 2 hours to complete. Etrailer was great to deal with and the B&W product is a quality American product.
Between the videos and the instructions it was very easy to follow. If you’re like me and don’t want to cut your fender liners I simply removed the front bed bolts and jacked one side up to slide in the mounting rails. The only fender I had to cut was the drivers side to allow for the latch pin lever. I really like just how “flush” the hitch really is once you turn over the ball. Overall very impressed with the hitch so far and have already recommended the hitch to other family members and friends.
This was my first order I placed with et etrailer. If one work could say it I guess it would perfect! I ordered on a Tuesday arrived on Thursday. I Placed the order got conformation and a name and contact to call if I had any issues, once it arrived I got another email letting me know if had been delivered. The installation video was perfect made it’s easy to install just followed the steps. When I need any trailer related items I will use them. As far as the B&W hitch i put it in a 2017 Ram 2500 with Ram boxes. The fit and quality of the hitch and design is what I have come to expect from B&W. I got this hitch to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. If your wondering if it will work with Ram Boxes it will.
I don't typically leave reviews, but this product earned one. Everything went on exactly how it should with zero issues. The measurement for the hole was perfect. The hardware used was top notch and had no issues torquing to spec. The install was quick, and every step of the way was simple and thought out, and communicated effectively in the instruction pages. VERY impressed with the kit, and how strong everything is. This is going to be a huge help for towing our mules around with the tundra. Big thanks to etrailer for the communication and fast shipping, making sure I could get this installed before mule days!

I installed this myself in our brand new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LT regular box. Drilling holes in the bed was nerve wracking, but I measured twice and followed the instructions carefully and it turned out great! A person asked me later if it was factory installed because it looks so good! We have used it to tow our 13K fifth wheel with Reese Goosebox and B&W offset ball for almost a year now and we love it!
I give the unit 4 stars as it is heavy duty and went together fairly well. However, I would deduct stars for the release mechanism. This was just one step above unacceptable. For example, I have air springs and the release handle interferes with the bags. I had to slightly modify it so it would work. I'll be going to the nearest welding shop and asking for a better version to be fabricated. I would also deduct points for the instructions. Very basic and in some cases, worse than figuring it out myself.
I though the video from trailer was helpful. Albeit, the vehicle they show is not a diesel truck. I had to drop my DEF tank to get at the bolts.
The kit arrived in 2 days. The installation process was not that difficult with the proper tools. The only reason for a 3 star rating is because the ball has machining gouges. I would expect that the main point of connection would be inspected and smooth.
Great product from a great company. B&W sets the bar when it comes to all things towing/trailer related. And etrailer.com compliments them very well with customer service. I have utilized my turnover set up for about a year now with no issues. the convince of having a gooseneck ball when needed but still having complete use of my bed space critical for me as a contractor. I am constantly using the bed of my truck to haul tools and light material from site to site but also on occasion have to pick up bulk materials or move equipment with our gooseneck. The turnover ball from B&W was exactly what we needed to remain versatile.
Missing parts, it will be taken care of but the timing screwed me. Missing all the frame brackets.
