Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this RV Designer Gas Strut. Now, this gas strut acts basically like a helper for lifting and holding things open, kinda like what you see on a car hatchback. This is designed to make opening and closing things a whole lot smoother and safer for you. This is going to give you a controlled lift when you open something like your cargo door, RV bed, or a truck cap, and it's also gonna help guide it back down gently instead of letting it slam shut. As you know, that added control is gonna be really nice because it prevents sudden drops and makes everything feel more stable and secure.
And this is pretty flexible, too. You're gonna be able to use this on cargo compartments, entry doors, or storage areas where you need a little extra support. The design is pretty compact, so it's gonna work well even in those tighter or hidden spaces where you don't want bulky hardware. In terms of strength, this one has a 120-pound force. And I'm lining this up here in frame.
I'm gonna get my tape measure here, give you the measurement of the extended length center of ball socket to center of ball socket. So it looks like we're sitting right at 20 inches. We replaced the gas struts on the rv king size bed that came with our 5th wheel with these because after we upgraded the mattress the original ones couldn't support the weight. These are working much better and support the weight of the bed when lifted up with no problemo. They were very easy to swap out from the original ones also.
