NEED to increase Lift Existing strut : LGP6-200-40 LaVanture Products REPLACEMENT: PART RD74MR Will this work ??

Thanks for writing in!
The RV Designer Gas Strut # RD74MR is 20" long when extended and provides 120 lbs of force. Your existing LGP6-200-40 is also approximately 20" extended, but it is only a 40 lb strut.
So, # RD74MR will definitely give you more lifting force, but I would not recommend jumping from 40 lbs all the way up to 120 lbs without knowing what you are lifting. That is three times the force of your current strut, and I don't want you to end up with something that is too strong for the door, lid, or mounting hardware.
What are you using the strut to lift, and how much additional lift are you looking for?
