Digital laser measurements of the interior surfaces offer a consistently perfect fit! Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over the Weather Tech Custom Fit Front Auto Floor Mats here for our 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan. So the first step of our installation, we need to get our old fabric floor mats out of the vehicle. It's very easy to do this. There's gonna be one fastener here working on the passenger side. On the passenger side there's only one fastener, there's a little hoop. So we just lift up the floor mat like so, release it from the keeper.
Now we can just set this aside. Now we'll take our new floor mat here. Now they are side specific, but it should be pretty easy to determine which side goes where, because it's only gonna fit in a one way and it is a custom molded piece. So we'll go ahead and take our new floor mat. Just go ahead and set it into position.
It should be a pretty tight fit but it shouldn't be too tight that you can't get it into place. And then basically we're just gonna be aligning this hook here on the floorboard with the keeper going through our floor mat. Now we'll just repeat that same process over on the other side of the vehicle. Now, if you ask me, I think these things look really nice in here. So something that Weather Tech does in order to get a tight fit of their floor mat is they actually use some sort of laser program and software to map out the interior dimensions of the vehicle.
And then they create a mode of the floor mat that exactly mirrors that because you can see everything fits in here nice and tight. And having a tight and nice fitting floor mat is really something you don't really know you have until you don't really know you need until you have it. Some of the more universal floor mats that just sort of sit on the floor there. A lot of the times you can kick those around. You're constantly getting 'em bunched up and having that tight fit here is gonna keep everything in place here.
So you don't have to worry about all those issues. And if you notice on the outside here, you also have the rolled edge all the way around. It's just not a flat floor mat there. Everything is gonna come up to protect these sides of the vehicle as well. So that that not only offers more coverage it's also gonna do a much better job of keeping all that dirt and water sort of in here and out of your carpet. So in regards to the material that these are made out of it's sort of a mix between a rubber and a plastic. And what does really well is, these things are super durable and best of all they're super easy to clean. So if you've got some muddy boots, you're constantly getting in and out of your vehicle, you can easily clean these off by just simply taking them off and then spraying 'em with a hose. Weather Tech does offer a cleaner if you want to go a step further but usually just some soapy water will work great for these. As we said, just hose them down, let them dry up and just pop 'em right back in vehicle because they are very easy to install and remove. So you'll also notice throughout with our floor mats here, we have all these little channels, these built in channels and grooves and what these do a great job of. They do a great job of sort of collecting and funneling that water away, so you're not sploshing it around. And we also have much more traction here with these little ridges here. So if you just had a flat surface there, you've had some mud on there and some water you're gonna be kicking that around inside the vehicle there. So having a place for that dirt and moisture to go there is definitely gonna help ensure that you don't make a mess of your vehicle. Floor mats believe it or not are pretty important to your vehicle here. Granted, they should come with the factory fabric ones but what happens in a lot of cases, if you're really using your vehicle, you know, you're getting mud, dirt on your shoes depending on where you live. And you're tracking that into the vehicle over time that water can soak into your carpet. And what that does is that obviously gonna create mold issues, which is not something we will wanna do. It's very hard to clean out that water once it gets underneath the carpet there. So having an extra barrier there to stop that water from getting into the carpet there is really just gonna ensure, you're keeping proper maintenance up on your vehicle. And that's gonna do it today for our look at The Weather Tech Custom Fit Front Auto Floor Mats here on our 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan..

WeatherTech is not cheap, but we’ll worth the investment if you live in areas with dirt, mud, rain, snow. Vehicle floor carpet takes a huge toll. WeatherTech keeps it new.

2011 Volkswagen Routan
The corners curled up and could not be made to lie flat on car floor. I considered using screws and washers to keep them flat but that would require drilling holes in the floor...not the best ides. And cleaning them would be a pain also.

The fit is lacking quite a bit (like 3-5 inches off in places) also wish I didn’t get the one that covers the whole floor in one piece. I wish it was 3 pieces that snap together for easier cleaning because this design you end up dumping all the crud on the floor of the truck while trying to take the mat out to clean it.

Does not fit the 2018 Hymer Aktiv class B motorhome on Promaster chassis. See pictures. notches for seat posts are not even close. The floormat extends into passenger side lower step well causing trip/foot snag when entering vehicle. Does not extend into area between seats leading to another raised area prone to trip/foot snag. Not good for RV use. I gave it two stars for quality of material. I'll be requesting return/refund.

Hey I am sorry that these did not work out for you. I see from your order that while you have a 2018 Hymer Aktiv Motorhome this will only fit if you have the base model. I checked and we do not have floors mats that would be fit. I will have our Customer Service team reach out in case you want to return the mats.

After a year, my product is still amazing. The sticky parts that hold the mats down have worn and the adhesive won’t stay but that is a quick fix with carpet tape.

The mat is a perfect fit in our Airstream Atlas. And received quickly. HOWEVER, there were two TechGrip II B grips for vinyl, not one for vinyl and one for carpet (TechGrip II), and of course we need one for carpet. I will upgrade my review to five stars if I receive a TechGrip II for carpet from etrailer as I do not want to spend $xx+ ordering one when it should have been included……

I have gotten in touch with the manufacturer and they have confirmed that these liners do not necessarily call for the TechGrip II for carpet. However, the manufacturer is willing to work with you on this matter.

And since it arrived in a Weather Tech box I imagine it was not your fault as it came to y’all without the carpet grip We love the floor mat in our Airstream Atlas motorhome! We haven’t opened the motorhome cover yet as we had to order a ladder in order to get on top of our rig. Will review that as soon as it is installed. Thanks again!

Cargo mat delivered did not completely
Fit the cargo area. I'm assuming the wrong mat was sent. 2018 Chevy Equinox LS . Waiting for response back from eTrailer. I called 800 # on July 11, 2017 three times from 4:30pm to 5pm EST and computer prompt for service with product was #3. On hold twice for over 15 minutes with no explanation or human contact. Called third time and used prompt 1 for sales thinking they would surely pick this call up. Same 15 minutes on hold without any contact. Hung up again after unnecessary wait.
Hopefully this will get worked out and at the minimum a credit should be offered for the screw up and non existent customer phone service.

Received the mats 6 days after ordering using the "free shipping "option. I feel this is reasonable and the tracking provided was accurate and up to date.
Now about the mats. I have owned many vehicles and have always tried to protect the interior and keep it as new looking as possible. I believe these mats will help me do that. In s word, they are great. They fit really well and the color match is spot on. The texture is non-slip and they are flexible enough that taking them in and out is a very easy. In short they are perfect for my vehicle and I would most certainly buy them again.
I will definitely use "etrailer" again for any products I need that they carry.

Product was delivered quickly and fit perfectly. Only issue was that the box was open upon receipt, but luckily all parts were still in the box. Would recommend additional tape be applied to box prior to shipping.

WeatherTech stands true to their claims of custom fit. My floor mats dropped in place with no effort. So much nicer looking than the plastic flooring in the cab of my motorhome. Clean up will be easier now that the mats are in place.

Laser precision my ass. This will leave you with about a two-inch lip which you will trip over in the center console area. They are sold out of the center plastic connector piece.

I can understand that you do not want to trip over floor mat all the time. I wanted to look into this and I have a few questions that I wanted to ask. Which van do you have? As in do you have a cargo, passenger, or crew van? Would you be able to send a picture of how the mat looks in the van? Does your van have a front center air duct?

My review was for the weather tech floor mats for the front of the Chevy Silverado. The mats are great to a point but the wear and tear in the weak spots are terrible especially. On the driver's side foot rest heel is very thin and is creating a several small holes in the liner. Especially when my girlfriend drives with her heels on. She literally got the heel stuck thru the liner

Great for protecting the carpet and fits excellent. However, it holds onto dust pretty strongly and therefore requires me to use a pressure washer to clean it thoroughly. Also, there is a larger than desirable gap between the back wall of the liner and the rear seats. I find that things often go missing in this gap which is annoying.

The quality of the product is excellent. No debating that. My disappointments the design does not make it easy to pull out the Stow-Away chairs and when the chairs are stowed away, it leaves a square opening. Not sure how one would design that but I suspect there were trade offs. Overall, they will stay with the van. My wife likes to keep one seat down as we haul the handicap equipment in the back and groceries behind the driver's chair. I have one pictures of a carpet square in the opening of the floor mat.
