The cat-back system is the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter back to the tailpipe. MagnaFlow systems boast mandrel-bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter through every curve. This consistency in diameter decreases back pressure, thereby boosting power.
Each MagnaFlow performance muffler has a stainless steel, perforated core that runs through it - end to end - with no baffles, chambers, or louvers that restrict airflow. A stainless steel wool layer insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield against high exhaust temperatures, and prevent blowouts. Together, the mandrel-bent tubes and muffler in this system increase horsepower, torque, and fuel efficiency.
MagnaFlow's Street Series exhaust systems are tuned to produce a slightly less aggressive exhaust note than Race or Competition Series exhausts - exciting, but not loud enough to make your neighbors angry.
