Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area. You will need to partially remove the plastic threshold cover, side panels, and cargo trays to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2021 Toyota Venza vehicles, and on a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now, this will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights, and this is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website. This kit does connect very quickly and easily, all you have to do is locate the connection points in the rear cargo area, and then plug in these T-connectors, one on each side, one on the driver's side, one on the passenger side, ground your white wire, and then run your power wire to your vehicle's battery. Now, this harness does include this black box, which is a ModuLite, and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer.
It is a powered module, that's why it'll connect directly to the battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Now, the wire that comes out that the 4-ways attached to that goes to your trailer, it is a 16-gauge bonded wire they use, and if you noticed, the 4-way does have this included integrated dust cover for the 4-way, so when it's not being plugged into a trailer, you can just put that dust cap over that, and it protects the terminals from any damage or from the elements. A few specs on this wiring harness, the maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is five amps per circuit, for the tail lights, it's 7.5 amps. Now, it does come with everything laid out here on the table, does have a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how everything connects, and it we'll even show you where your connection points are in your cargo area. But quickly, just how this would connect, what you do is go to the rear of your vehicle in the rear cargo area, and then you'll take these T-connectors and these are gonna plug in behind your tail lights, so again, start on the driver's side, take the T-connector, has the red wire in it, and then detach your harness, plug this T connector in there, and then you'll go to the passenger side, and you'll connect the T-connector, has the yellow and green wires, you can see there's a length of wire, run that over to the passenger side, plug it in the same way.
Once those are all connected, this black box here has a little weight to it, so you don't want it bouncing around, so they do have a little tab with a hole up here that you can put a screw through to secure it, or if not, they do include a piece of double faced tape that you can put on there to secure it, and then you'll run this 4-way out towards the back, and you'll have two remaining wires, the white wire and the black wire. The white wire with the eyelet on it, that needs to connect to a good clean ground if there's one nearby, if not, they do include a grounding screw that you could make your own ground, and then the last wire is the black power wire, this will go to the front of the vehicle, the vehicle's battery, and they let you do that by giving you this length of wire and the connectors. So you'll take a butt connector, put it on the power wire, connect it to one end of this length of wire, run it up to the front. Once you get to the front, take the other end, you don't wanna run it directly to the battery, you wanna run it through this inline fuse holder. So you'll take the other butt connector, attach it to one side of the fuse holder, just like that, and then on the other side of the fuse holder, you'll have this eyelet connected at your connector, and then this will connect to the battery.
Once that's all connected, open up your fuse holder, take the included 15 amp fuse, install it into the fuse holder, push it all the way in, put your cap on there, and now your system's all ready to go. And what's nice is, if you notice, they give you some extra cable ties, which will take up any slack in the wiring here. But that should do it for the review on the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector..
