Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the rear side cargo panels to expose the tail light wiring harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a T-One vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. Now folks, this is a custom-fit application, so double check the fit guide here at etrailer on our homepage. Enter things, like your make and model, into the My Vehicles tab or My Car, somewhere of that nature to make sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now this does provide a four-way, flat connection or a four-pole flat connection.
Once it is installed, you have a nice dust cover here included for when you're not using it. This is considered, again, a T-harness. And what that basically means is this here makes the letter T and what you're doing is you're literally unplugging the connector behind your taillight. You're gonna plug this into the one you unplugged or vice versa, and that one back into the taillight. Thus connecting everything to your electrical without having to cut or splice.
And that being said, there is a ground wire and a wire that needs to be ran all the way to the positive side of the battery. They give you that length of wire here to make that connection along with an inline fuse. Per the instructions, you will cut this in half. You get the fuse included. All the connectors need it.
These are heat shrink connectors. That way you can get a nice watertight connection. You've got a double-sided piece of adhesive here that's gonna go in the back of this guy. This is the brains of the outfit. And what this does is it's a ModuLite and it's gonna ensure your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer.
And it connects directly to the battery, like I said, and prevents it from overheating the electrical system and those kind of things. And this piece here is designed to basically die or kill itself in the event it gets an overload or a surge of electrical feedback or something of that nature. So it's a nice little component that's built into it, a great product. Once this whole thing is installed, it's gonna store in the back of your rear cargo area. So what you'll do is you'll take this, you got a nice length of wire here included, and you'll just simply open the back hatch or trunk, whatever, and you will put this out and close the trunk back hatch area, whatever. And the foam on the door seal has enough give and everything. It's not gonna crimp the wire, it's not gonna hurt anything. It's designed for that. So you don't have to worry about that, and then you'll be able to make your connection. Well, that's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
Good!
