Specs:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold and some interior lining to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, run the red hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Today were going to review part number HM11141925. This is the Hopkins plug-in vehicle-specific wiring harness with the 4-pole trailer connector. This is a custom fit part number. This is designed to fit the 2008 to 2013 Lexus LS600H. Now this is a plug-in wiring harness which will provide a no hassle, quick and easy way to install this 4-pole connector on your tow vehicle. Once this 4-pole connector is installed, youll be able to plug in the 4-pole from your trailer to provide lights on your trailer.
Now this plug-in wiring kit will utilize prewired factory OEM connectors to give you a watertight protection, guaranteed fit and a very simple plug in easy installation. These connectors right here will plug right into the rear of your vehicles taillights. There is no cutting or splicing required. Now on the 4-pole one right here you can see the connector, the terminals on this are corrosion-resistant terminals and it includes this nice rubber dusk cap that when youre not using it you can put the cap on it to protect it even more. Now this part includes everything shown here on the table. It includes the power converter module with the module has the connectors and these wires all attached, thats all included.
It also includes this length of 14 gauge wire. This length would be used to run the power from the vehicles battery to the module. It comes with this fuse assembly which you would attach the power wire to the battery by using this fuse assembly. It includes the 15 amp fuse that would go right in there. It includes a grounding screw if its needed for your white wire to ground it. It includes some cable ties if you need to take up any excess slack of the wire that you run, you can use the cable ties.
It includes this nice grease packet of dielectric grease which would be used You can put it on the 4-pole here when you go to hook in to your trailers 4-pole. Now basically this power converter right here, this will adapt the vehicles wiring system to work with the trailer. Itll safeguard the vehicles wiring system by pulling power directly from your vehicles battery and it does not go through the existing wires or the electrical system of your vehicle. Basically when you go to install this, what you do is go to the back of your vehicle and youll remove the connectors on the back of your taillights and youll plug these into those connectors. Basically the side here with the yellow wires, this would be for the driver side so you plug these behind the drivers taillights and then this single green wire that has a length of wire, this would run across the vehicle over to the passenger side and then these connectors would plug to the back of the passenger side taillight. Now this white wire would be for ground.
It has a length of it and has an eyelid on the end. You can use an existing screw on your vehicle maybe to ground it if you can get a good clean ground. If not, they include this grounding screw that you can drill a hole and use that. Then this last wire, the red wire with the butt connector, that is for the power that goes to the vehicles battery so this would be connected to one end of this length of 14 gauge wire and then run from the back of the car to the front and then other end would connect to this butt connector on the fuse assembly. Then youll connect the other end of this fuse assembly with the eyelid to the battery and then before you use it, you just go ahead and take your 15 amp fuse, plug it into that position there. Once its plugged in, put the cap over it and then your wiring harness would be ready to go. Its a fairly simple installation. The only extra thing youd have to do would be running this wire. It might take a little more time. Also on this module, this converter module here, it does have a maximum amp reach it can be used. On the stop and turn lights it would be 3 amps per circuit and on the taillights would 6 amps. That should do it for the review of part number HM11141925, the Hopkins plug-in vehicle-specific wiring harness with the 4-pole trailer connector. .
