This etrailer Quick Binder ratchet binder gives you a controlled way to tighten a 5/16" to 3/8" chain when securing equipment. Extension, free-spin, and take-up modes let you reach the hooks, remove slack, and ratchet the chain tight.
This etrailer Quick Binder ratchet binder is rated at 7,100 lbs and supports a 5/16" to 3/8" chain (not included), which covers most Grade-70 transport chains used with compact tractors, skid steers, and similar machines. Pairing the binder with the right chain size makes sure the hooks fit correctly and the working load limits match what you're hauling. There are 10', 16', and 20' chains (e28GV, e94GV, and e34GV - each sold separately) available that are rated to pair with this binder.
The etrailer Quick Binder ratchet binder's lever lets you quickly move between three modes as you're setting up or undoing your chain.
Note: Do not use Free-Spin to release a chain that's under load.

Hi. Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about etrailer's quick ratchet chain binders. Now, we're gonna be talking about two kits today, there's gonna be just the one-chain binder, or you could get the kit of two-chain binders. And these are gonna work with chains of sizes 5/16 to 3/8. And they're going to have a weight capacity of 7,100 pounds.
So let's take a closer look at them. Now, these are gonna be great for any type of heavy equipment that you might be hauling. Just make sure that are gonna fall in the weight capacity of what you are hauling. Now, when it comes to different styles of chain binders, this is a style that I like a lot, because when we compare it to a lever style, yes, they are fairly quick to use. The downside is if you don't get that perfectly hooked up the first time, it can actually take longer.
And the second thing you need to watch out for is they're gonna take a lot of force to put down, so they're hard to use. And then you also gotta be careful when using them 'cause you could hurt yourself when it comes back up. Well, this is gonna be fairly easy to use. There's not much strain you have to push behind it. And a lot of times, I do find them quicker to use.
So I can actually show you the process of using this one right here. So using these are gonna be like most chain binders out there where we are going to have that paw right here. And what's nice about this style, is yes, you do get the lever to adjust this or have it in or out. And it does have a logo on here to let you know which orientation, which I do appreciate. (lever creaking) So yeah, I'll typically loosen that out some.
It's already mostly loosened out at this point. And I'm gonna hook this onto my chains. And like I was talking about earlier, this is gonna be designed to work with chains of sizes from 3/8 to 5/16. The 3/8 ones grab on there fairly easy. Do it on this side too. There you go. That's probably close enough. And that's what I do like about a ratcheting-style. You don't have to get this on the perfectly right chain compared to a lever-style. Now I'll just adjust that paw. And if you find that this is in an awkward spot, you can just put it in free spin, that's gonna be in the center. And adjust this to where you need it to be. And we'll just tighten this down now. (lever creaking) As you can see, not as quick as that initial push down for a lever-style, but I'm still moving relatively quick. Nothing's really binding up on me. And here at the very end I am getting some more resistance, because I wanna get this nice and tight. Now, I've had experience with a lot of different chain binders here at etrailer and when I was in the army too. And I will say this style right here is moving fairly easy. I do like this ability to actually push this lever so it's out of my way. And a lot of times I'll actually put it back in free spin, lower it down, because I always like mine kind of facing toward the inside. And we can wrap these chains back around here. (chains rattling) Just like that. A lot of times not a bad idea to actually zip tie this off so it doesn't go anywhere. Something I really do appreciate with this style is we just have that single barrel. I find this is just a lot more simple to actually ratchet down and control and use compared to some of those double barrels you'll see on either side. So we are gonna have this coating on our chain binder, this does a really good job at preventing these from rusting, especially when we're going cross country or across state where we have a bunch of different weather conditions. Now, a couple of points to watch out for are gonna be right here on this gear. That's where that paw is gonna be constantly making contact with. But this is gonna be something you see with any type of ratcheting chain binder out there. And of course we're not gonna have any coating on the threads. That's good because that would cause us to bind up and give us a lot of issues in the future. And I did wanna hit on the weight capacity again. So this is gonna have a working load limit of 7,100 pounds. So that's what you can actually use when you are hauling it. But you also wanna take into consideration what your anchor points are rated for and your actual chains. And if you do need to pick up some new chains, if you're picking up a new chain binder, we got you covered here at etrailer, and you can even get some kits where we have them paired up with chain binders, chains, and even in kits of two. But also make sure you're going by the regulations in your state so you can stay safe and legal. Now overall, I do think this is gonna be a solid option if you are looking for something that's gonna feel pretty easy to use, it's gonna be safe, and it's gonna be reliable. And if you guys have any other questions about what our kits consist of or need some help picking the right type of chains for you, let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.
Great price and works perfectly, ratchet moves smoothly without binding. It's obvious that these will last a very long time. Will be purchasing more!
Everything looks good, I haven’t used it yet but I will be using them this week. They store a lot easier than the old style ratchet style that I had.
