Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Front Runner sliding fridge tray with shelf. Now this heavy duty tray is going to slide out giving you quick access to your fridge or cooler in your cargo area. And this tray will fit a fridge or cargo up to 37 inches long and 20 inches wide inside of our tray here. And the high strength bearing drawer slides is going to allow the tray to extend nearly 100% from the anchored base. Now this does have a weight capacity of 249 pounds and as you can see there on your screen, I did include the measurements of the inside of this tray.
Again, just giving you an idea of how much this can hold and this can have many other uses as well. This will be great for uses like carrying your tools, boxes, and other adventure gear. Now this does lock in an open or closed position. Now I can't fully extend this because I don't have the base anchored and if I fully extended it, it would probably fall on my toe, which I really don't want to happen. But just let me give you a brief demonstration of how this is going to slide out and then back in, this is going to be our locking mechanism here.
So I'm gonna push that over to the right and then that's going to allow me to pull this out. And this is a very smooth operation as I hope you can see there. It doesn't make any noise or it doesn't rattle or anything like that. So this is going to be a very smooth operation for you. Let me see if I can bring this close enough so you can just see that locking mechanism.
I have discovered that when you keep the latch in the open position it will be all the more smoother when you slide this in and out when you have that locking mechanism release, it does give you a little bit of resistance because as you're pushing this in or pulling this out, it's looking for that spot there to lock in. So as you can see when I push this shut, it locks so this will not slide back out on its own. It's going to be firmly, firmly locked into place. But again, very smooth operation. You're not gonna be struggling with this at all and it's a very well-built, very heavy duty tray.
We do have tie-down points here and this also includes four cam buckle straps to hold down your cargo. So these straps are a really nice addition and it's going to let you strap down your fridge or toolboxes or anything like that you have in here. So I really appreciate the locking mechanism. Again, not only is it gonna stay put when it's fully closed, but when you have it fully open it's gonna stay locked as well so it's not going to accidentally slide back in to your cargo area when you're parked on uneven ground. You're not gonna have to worry about it sliding out when you're going down the road. I did want to show you as well that we do have this wooden extension shelf. It comes out just this far here. So this is a very nice addition. This is going to be great for giving you an additional cooking workspace or just another area that you might need. So that is included and this comes out about 18 inches long and overall it's about 13 inches wide. So a nice surface and as you can see, locks so that it doesn't come all the way out. And then let me give you a view overhead just to give you another perspective here. This does have openings in the floor of the tray to allow for ventilation. So you're not gonna have to worry about moisture or condensation getting trapped within the tray underneath your fridge or whatever else you have stored in here. While we have it, while we are taking an overhead look and we have it closed, let me go ahead and give you some overall measurements and hopefully you can see my tape measure from there. So looking at the overall length when this is fully closed, we're sitting right at about 39 3/8 inches long. And then looking at the overall width, we're sitting right at about, let me see if you can see that there. It looks like you can, we're sitting at about 23 1/4 inches wide. Now again, I can't fully extend this as I mentioned before, but when this is fully extended, this is going to be about 74 7/8 inches long. So that gives you an idea of how much this can extend out. The overall height is gonna be about 3 1/2 tall and this is constructed of a durable steel construction and it has this really nice black powder coat finish that's going to protect it and help resist rust and corrosion. This tray weighs about 55 pounds and it will install on any flat metal or wood surface. Drilling is going to be required and to install this. And you will also get hardware that all the hardware that you are going to need to install this on your flat metal or wood surface and a set of instructions are also included to guide you through that installation process. And I do wanna point out that if this is maybe too big for you or if you're looking for another size, we do have other size options available here at etrailer.com from Front Runner. So be sure to check those options out. Well, I think that's going to wrap up our look today. I do hope that the information was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
I had the Front Runner Sliding Fridge Tray professionally installed. It works as it is supposed to.
Directions to install are easy enough to follow, but a helpful addition would be to describe the drill bit size needed to install the receiving screw inserts. Customer service gets an A+ for letting me know this item was back in stock after an outtage.
I'm using this for slide out storgage under the bedding of my Taxa Cricket.
