Video Transcript for How to Install the PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter on a 2015 Toyota Sienna

Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the PTC custom fit air cabin filter with a charcoal particulate, here on our 2015 Toyota Sienna. Now this guy isn't going to take too much time to actually change out but I definitely recommend it, especially when you start getting those seasonal al-allergies starting to have a harder time especially inside our vehicle. When our AC is on that could mean it's time to get you a new cabin filter.

If you're like me, you probably haven't checked yours in awhile. So let's go ahead and take a look, so we can get this guy in. So you'll notice I am in our passenger side here. We want to go ahead and access our glove box. So let's go ahead, grab everything out we might need to, we can pop this guy down.

Now, I noticed that we do have a dampener rod on the side holding our glove box and a couple of plastic tabs on the side. So right at the gate, I'm going to go ahead pop over this rod just actually takes this pushing it to the side, to get it released. And then our plastic tabs are going to be quickly released actually pulling on this plastic paneling on the inside. You'll see how that exposes that guy. We'll do the same on the other side.

I find getting your hand as close as you can to that point can usually do a good job of opening that up. Now this is going to want to pop over in the end. That's okay. You can go ahead and just let it sit down. As you can see, that is going to be exposing our fan here.

We're going to go ahead and pop this guy open. There's gonna be two little latches here and this is actually our door that we want to take off to our air cabin filter. Two quick little pinches there. You can see that's just going to open up that tab on either side. Go ahead and set that guy down for later. One thing we want to keep him out of is our air direction flow here. Today this does say up however, for our filter today because of how our air cycle actually works. We want to pull air into it so you can see those arrows indicating of where that flow wants to go. So we go ahead, pop this guy out. So you know this guy probably wouldn't recommend replacing him right away. However, if you are starting to have a little bit of allergies, those might be a little harder to see. You can see that pollen build up really going to start getting heavy there. This guy is a white media particulate. So something to keep a note there you might see that this guy is a little gray. However, that is because of the charcoal that's actually being used as another filtration agent for ourselves. So these guys are gonna do just a little bit better job of trapping any of those smaller debris particulates that we might not see to the naked eye. Just kind of trapping them inside our filter. So kind of hard to see the clear difference between these guys is this one is gray, but don't let that fool you, you can see that there's none of that kind of pollen imprint on the inside. No dust build up. So let's go ahead and add this guy in. We want to go ahead head and again note our airflow here again we're pulling down into our blower there. So we're going to go ahead and just stick this guy right there. Then we can re add our face, like so, and with just a quick push on those tabs. It's going to go ahead and lock in and now we can start putting together our glove box. You just wanna line up these tabs like so where they are hinging on there then we can walk this up. Now this plastic is going to have just kind of like that curve shelf as you can see much like a door latch. And we just walk that up into position both on our other side but let's not go ahead and forget our damper rod that just makes a clean little fall down for our thing. As you can see, it does a good job of holding that in there that we we're not banging our knees or damaging our glove box. Well, we're good to go. Well, as you guys saw, that installation took no time at all. Quick and easy way to save ourselves some pennies when we are getting our car serviced anywhere else. And a quick way to make sure that we are reducing those allergens or any of the pesky dust that we are getting inside of our cabin. Well, I think that that does it for a look at the PTC custom fit air cabin filter with charcoal particulate here on our 2015 Toyota Sienna. I'm Bobby, thank you for watching..
