Today on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter. Here you can see there's quite a bit of difference between our new cabin filter and our old one. Now obviously you can see that our old cabin filter is working because it's actually starting to turn brown, but if we open up the pleats, we can see that there are larger pieces that are getting caught in our filter. Which, if those larger pieces get past the filter and make their way into our cooling system, it can do a lot of damage and cause a lot of back pressure in the system.But with our new cabin filter, it's going to make sure that it filters out all those particles and allergens in the air so we can have fresh air, make sure it's healthy when we're inside of our RAV4. Now the real big difference between the one we pulled out and the one we're going to put in, is that the new one is actually a charcoal filter, so it's going to do a lot better with filtering out odors, whether it's smoke or exhaust fumes, than the standard white media filter.Whenever we're driving down the road, car maintenance is typically one of the last things we're thinking about.
