Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Brophy Figure Eight Coupling Link for quarter inch size chain, has a 3,300 pound working load limit. Now this coupling link right here will let you attach safety chains to your hitch quickly and easily. Application, this fits the quarter inch thick chains. This will create a more accessible attachment point than the connection loops that are on your hitch. This part will include everything shown here, the two piece coupling link itself, the pin, and the retaining collar.

Now, the way this would go together is your pin'll insert through there, but it goes through this retaining collar, which will be in the center. So once you start your pin, line the holes up, put your retaining collar in, and the retaining collar is a press fit. So what you'll have to do is get a hammer and tap it the rest of the way, all the way through, so it connects the two pieces. Now, if you ever do need to take it apart, you can remove it with a punch. You just put a punch on the pin, tap it with a hammer.

Once the pin slides out, remove the collar and then your two pieces will come apart. Now these are a grade 80 steel construction. As you can see, they have a corrosion-resistant zinc plating on 'em, and as we mentioned, the safe working load limit on 'em is 3,300 pounds. Now there are a couple dimensions for this link.
