Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Brophy figure-eight coupling link (metal clinking) for the 5/8-inch size chain. Has an 18,000 pound working load limit. This coupling link right here will let you attach safety chains to your hitch quickly and easily. This creates a more accessible attachment point than your connection loops that are on your hitch. It does include everything shown here on the table: the two-piece coupling link, the pin, and then the retaining collar.

Basically, the way you install this, your pin can be hammered through the link. The retaining collar would be put in the middle there, and then it's a press fit. And then you would just hammer that all the way through to hold the two link pieces together. And then to remove it, you just, you remove the pin with a hammer and a punch, slide that out, and then it would come apart. This is a grade 80 steel construction.

You can see it has a nice corrosion-resistant zinc plating on it. Application again, this fits 5/8-inch thick chains. And it has the safe working load limit of 18,000 pounds.
