Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we are looking at the WarriorWheels Cart Kit for the Yakima EXO System here at etrailer. If you already have the GearWarrior basically, a roof basket for Yakima access system. I highly recommend picking up the WarriorWheels cart kit because this will transform your cargo carrier into a cart. This comes with a large handle which provides maximum control for whenever you're pulling around your cart.
These have all-terrain tires, which are strong sturdy, and they're not rubber tires filled with air. So you don't have to worry about getting a flat. I honestly see this being used more in the parking lot especially, when you take it off of your EXO system and you're bringing it to your campsite, your resort, your hotel, wherever you're going. So let's take a minute to talk about how it feels as we drag it across the surfaces. I do see this being used more in parking lots and concrete, but it also held up really well when it was going over gravel and dirt.
So if your campsite is in and out of the way location, it will still hold up really well. You can see how it does really well with swivels and going side by side; it also does a complete 360 rotation. When you pack up your camp, and you're ready to throw this back onto your system, the wheels themselves come off very quickly. They're also very quickly to install. Let's take a look at that whole process.
Now we're gonna start with the installation of our warrior wheels. Awesome thing about this is you can do this while you have your baskets fully loaded with all your gear and equipment. Also it's ideal to have it installed while it is on the top shelf or on your swing base because then it's in there in position. You're gonna have three parts. You're gonna have your snap around, you're gonna have your knob, and you're gonna have a rear wheel.
So let's install those. This snap arounds basically snap around the corner of your basket. You gonna install all four first before you go to the next step. What I found was the easiest way to do this was to start by putting your knobs through that snap around then, you come up with your warrior wheel. So that's going to wrap around the bar in the basket, and then you will use that knob to secure it and then just tighten that down. Install the other three the exact same way. One thing to know is to make sure that the wheels that can swivel will be together, and they will be their front, but once that's all done, you can then install the handle. The handle has snap arounds as well. So just install those snap arounds around your bars. Now align your snap around to the furthest point, and you can place them and then get your handle and align them inside the snap rounds. If you're gonna have the bolts you took off from the kit and place those through the top, you're gonna get your bolt, and you're just gonna pop it through the handle, so try to make sure it's aligned with both these snap around and the hole on the handle. Once you have the top fully seated, you can then use the knob to tighten down and thread through the bolt on the bottom. Now that you have your handle installed and everything is installed correctly, please make sure of that your ready to take your GearWarrior off and away. So to do so first, unlock the tabs and then release in the speed knobs until they tighten back up again, then you're gonna need another hand to grab one end of the carrier, lift it up, and you're ready to go put it down on the ground. Once you've set your GearWarrior down and is now a cart, and then you can cart it away. And that was the look here at the WarriorWheels Cart Kit for the Yakima EXO System here at etrailer.com..
I LOVE my EXO system
I am not that impressed with this. tires are pneumatic (filled with air and have a tube) solid tires would have been better. also, they are bulky and hard to find a place to stow them when on the road. solid tires that fold up flush with the bottom of the cart would have been a better design.
