The integrated ramp on this cargo carrier folds into multiple positions. Fully extend the ramp and angle it against the ground to easily load and unload your wheeled cargo. Fold the ramp in half and position it vertically to get full use of the carrier, or pivot it down to limit drag while still maintaining some free cargo space. Fold the ramp completely flat against the carrier for compact storage and easy access to the rear of your vehicle.
And when the carrier's not in use, the folding shank lets you stow it alongside the rear of your car.
Six integrated eye hooks provide attachment points for securing ropes, straps, or bungees to the carrier so you can keep your cargo safe and secure.

Hitch work well, I recently sold that vehicle and purchased another hitch from you to go on my newer vehicle.
Great product..well made..package was a little beat up that seems to have left a small dent in the tubing nothing very noticeable. I have dealt with etrailer before and everytime I am not disappointed..
Works great! I use it to transport mowers for residential landscape maintenance. The ramp is a welcome feature. This carrier has held up to daily use.
Your hitch was the best for us. My wife uses it to haul a heavy Paleta cart for fund raising! Thank you!!
I bought this hitch carrier after owning a steel version for several years to transport a snow blower during the winter months in NH. That version rusted out in a few years and is a shell of itself. So far the aluminum carrier has held up very well. Noticeably better construction as well. Worth the extra money IMHO.
Short version: Best thing since sliced bread.
Long version: This thing was designed by somebody that knew what they were doing. The instructions were clear, accurate, and easy to follow. Pictures showed appropriate detail. Assembly was easy. Materials are sturdy and of high quality.
I purchased this to carry a generator on the back of my RV. But I also wanted to be able to use it on my F150 to carry whatever. I didn't want to have to lift a 100 pound generator, or anything else, as I have back issues. I also didn't want the carrier to be excessively heavy. Being able to fold it up when not in use was also a necessity. This carrier does it all.
Once assembled, I installed it on my F150 and put it into all possible positions. It was extremely easy to mount and moved easily from one position to another. It is so cool to have the ramp to load things on to the carrier. This is my first purchase from this manufacturer, Curt, and supplier, eTrailer. It arroved promptly and in good condition. I will be putting both of these companies on the top of my list for future purchases.
Easy to assemble easy to install. One hint get a small furniture dolly to move it around with. Works great and easy.
Pros and cons with this cargo carrier, but the cons outweigh the pros.
PRO: good size for a wheelchair. Room to get to the rear doors when the carrier is down. Carrier folds up.
CON: too few anchors for tying down cargo (*way* too few). The pin that holds the carrier in place upright against the back gets harder and harder to put in. Carry something metal on it and it can cut into the carrier (like a 2 wheeler). Black surface chips easily. wobbly. The ramp when folded upright can unlatch easily and open up while driving (like if you hit a pothole; we added bungees to keep it in place). Steep ramp. Folded up it blocks the licence plate from view.
Assembled and installed in an hour. Excellent instructions. This is not a toy. It is heavy duty. Needed to get a 250 lb. 28-inch snow thrower 35 miles on the highway. With the ramp, job done with ease. See images.
Overall I am very pleased with the Cargo Carrier. I have the 30x50 Curt Cargo Carrier w/ 48" Ramp - 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs. I had a friend install it on my car when I received it and it just stays on my car. I use it to transport my scooter and it is so much easier than attempting to lift the scooter into the back end of my car. The only draw back is that because I have to keep it on my car all the time (because it is too heavy for me to take off) it is difficult to use the back end of my SUV. The convenience of being able to take my scooter with me when I need to outweighs any inconvenience the carrier might cause.
The cargo carrier is well engineered and was easy to assemble. etrailer customer service is outstanding. They kept me informed from initial order to the delivery date. Highly recommend etrailer.

The carrier is as advertised and the ramp is the reason I purchased it.
Package was beat up upon arrival, nothing was damaged though. The ramp itself looks great and I like all the positions it can go in, perfect for my snowblower and mower. The only problems I had was the eye bolt on the right was too long so it blocked the ramp from folding up and in (easy fix with 2 washers placed on the outside of ramp). The second problem was a bit more problematic. When the ramp was folded flat on the inside of the carrier the latch did not align with the latch hole (I had to grind a bigger hole, which fixed it. If I didn't have a grinder I would've had to return it). All-in-all I think it's a decent product, the individual crossbars could be a bit more sturdy though. I would definitely not put anymore than 400 lbs on it.

Cross bars definitely need to be stronger. If I ratchet down anything snug the crossbars will bend. The rubber ramp holder has broke in just a year. I added working lights to the back for more safety my car is black like the ramp and I dont trust the reflectors much at night. Overall I still like, just the crossbars need to be thicker or reinforced somehow.

Weve had this cargo carrier for a year now, and its been working well. It does a great job of hauling our 28 Ariens Deluxe Snowblower around. The only complaints I have are that the steel parts that rub when going between the up and down position are starting to rust because the paint has come off. The pin is also hard to align sometimes when we switch between having it flipped up and laid down. You can eventually get it through, it just takes some jiggling.
