Hello everybody, this is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the DeeMaxx Alpha G 1000 electric over hydraulic actuator for drum brakes. Now this DeeMaxx brake actuator's gonna give you the faster braking response and improve control for your fifth wheel or your trailer that uses drum brakes. Has a 15.7 ounces of total reservoir capacity, so it's got more than enough power to tackle even the most demanding towing needs. This does activate the hydraulic drum brake system when you apply the brakes in your vehicle and has a maximum output pressure of a thousand PSI. This will work with from the factory electric brake controllers, so you won't need an extra adapter, and it is made to last and protect key components for everyday reliability.
As you can see, it's a nice strong extruded aluminum housing, which will dissipate heat buildup. They use upgraded gasket seals on each end and they have an isolated sealed fluid tank, which eliminates risk of contamination. And they do use a powerful DC motor and German made pump. This is designed to install on your trailer frame or in an enclosed compartment. You look on this side right here has a rotating 90 degree brake line fitting, so it allows for any mounting position.
The hydraulic port size is three sixteenths of an inch inverted flare, which is your standard brake line fitting. This will meet the DOT specifications. Now it does require components that are sold separately, like an electrical over hydraulic compatible factory or aftermarket trailer brake controller. A DOT required battery powered breakaway device with a switch, a seven-way trailer connector to send the wired signal, and you're mounting hardware, wires, connectors, and hydraulic lines and fittings. Few specs on this, the power is 12 volt DC minimum 30 amp circuit.
Current draw at full pressure is 18 to 24 amps. And the wiring configuration right up here, you can see the bundled wires. They do have to go through 'em. A black wire, which is your 12 volt DC power, a blue brake controller connection, a yellow for a breakaway, and then the white is your ground. A few dimensions on this, if we measure the length from this end to this end, it's gonna be right at about 10 and a quarter inches.
Now it does have mounting tabs you can see here at the bottom. So if we add the mounting tabs, it's gonna get you right about 11 and three quarter inches, including the mounting tabs. The width on it, the widest point, it's gonna be right at three and five eight inches wide. Overall height of it is right about six inches tall and then add about three quarter inches more for the cap. But that's gonna do it for a look at this DeeMaxx Alpha G 1000 electric over hydraulic actuator for the drum brakes.
great price
overpriced but works well
