This tow bar is a beast! I'm replacing my existing one (same model) after over 20,000 miles of pulling a Jeep Cherokee behind a class A motorhome. It has taken a beating on a trip to Alaska and back to Texas, including an incident where the wind blew me off the road and put the Jeep on 2 wheels. A frost heave that bent the RV Tow receiver but not the tow bar. As well as a car driving into the back of the Jeep while I was towing at 65 mph. Can't say enough about the quality and durability of this product!

The product quality is excellent and very easy to use. We've had no issues with the installation or towing our F150 behind our motorhome. Easy to remove or attach with just one person.

If you are thinking of towing a car this is the company to see. Just installed a base plate and tow bar to my Toyota. Took just 2 hours. With the video and instructions, no problems, very easy. Customer support excellent, very helpful. If you don’t think that you can do this install yourself, think again. I decided to use an antique Blue Ox tow bar to pull my Mini Cooper behind our RV on a trip to Panama City beach last year. Big Mistake! If it looks questionable, don't use it. When we arrived I was extremely thankful that the Mini was still with us. The old Blue Ox bar was coming apart. I looked locally for a replacement and found one at Camping World and was shocked at the price. eTrailer had the exact same unit for hundreds and hundreds less. And they shipped it quickly right to the camp ground. The Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar is very easy to us and mated right up to the Blue Ox kit on the Mini. Thanks eTrailer! We will definitely buy from you again!

Great product

Good design but poorly manufactured. Used on a single, multi-week trip: Bar stayed on the RV. Removed when we got home and the powder-coating has cracked and bar is showing rust inside and out. Chrome on extending arms is pitted and beginning to rust. Emailed etrailer but Cody informed me that I would have to ship it back at my expense without any commitment to replace! Disappointed with etrailer after years of previous purchases

Instructions for the adapter were incomplete, with no instructions on whether to torque the bolts or leave with some play. Haven't used the tow bar yet, but easy to assemble.

One word. Fabulous! The SD tow bar is a superior product. I don't want to say bad things about the most popular tow bar out there, but etrailer SD is just better engineering. The wiring kit for the tow base kit was very well engineered and works very well. The videos for installing the base plate we're awesome step by step process and was very easily accomplished by someone with just a wrench and a drill and a few tools.

Would have gave it a full 5 stars if it would have actually fit into the receiver. Tried both my extension receiver and the OEM 2 inch receiver. Would not budge. Had to grind off the powder coating and then some. Now I need to then repaint to prevent rusting. I would have returned this if I didn’t need it now. Better quality control is needed on the e trailer brand. Guess I know it won’t rattle, lol. Buy a mainstream brand.

First time flat tower so can't compare it to any others. Installs easily and stows out of the way nicely. Build quality looks Very good and look forward to our trip. I've only done parking lot test drives.

Great purchase and suggestion from etrailer. This thing is so easy to hook up to the Jeep and we couldn't be happier. We've only towed a few times, but already the wife has taken over hooking up the tow bar while I hook up the Brake Buddy in the Jeep. Easy to hook up, just as easy to disconnect after you arrive. I wish we had done this years ago!

Nice, solid product. Easy to install and remove. Sliding action is very smooth, easy to extend and fold. My hitch coupler is slightly different design than shown but seems very heavy duty.

This is the best tow bar I have used doesn't bind when unhooking and no more bruised toes or feet because bars stay where you put them they don't fall to the ground I just wish I had bought the heavier one

This tow bar and equipment is Excellent! The products were shipped in 2 days. Bonus was it came with the adapters for my existing Blue Ox baseplate. Instructions were simple to follow to make the change. The built in drop of 4” brings my level almost perfect +/- 4”. I may order the 4” drop/lift receiver hitch. Connecting to the tow car is easier than ever. Carol C was outstanding with her customer service. I’ll be buying more accessories.

This is a great towbar! I deliver motorhomes professionally and I did use a Blue Ox that went into the receiver hitch that I had to move from hitch to hitch rain or shine. Now all I have to do is put my small lightweight pintle hitch hook into the receiver and just quickly drop this lunette ring onto it easily, but when I’m not using this at all it’s so easy to just remove the whole towbar from my vehicle. I also like how easy it is to fold up so that it’s all compact and out of the way when it’s stowed on the front of my vehicle. This makes my hooking up and unhooking so quick and easy. The only thing I don’t like is when I end my trip on a downhill or slightly turned it’s hard to get this towbar off of the pintle hitch by myself, but I have done it every time with a little back and forth moving of my vehicle.

I am using this on the front of a UTV to pull around so it is plenty strong for that and is working good. I ordered the pintle version so that I could fabricate a clevis style hitch and use a hitch pin to pull behind a pickup or tractor. I only gave 4 stars because the latch on the left sider sometimes has a hard time latching. I don't know if there is a way to adjust the lock or not.

Having used Roadmaster products for years imagine my surprise when after using my new hitch for only a month the right arm came apart while towing my car. I happened to be looking at it and was able to coast to a stop during a slight uphill grade which prevented my car from any further damage. As it turned out the bolts which hold the arms on had fallen out. Why I don’t know. I was able to use a temporary pin in the slot which allowed me to get to a hardware store where I replaced ALL the bolts holding both arms with grade 8 bolts and nylon locking nuts. The arm slid on the road, ground down a small corner and scuffed the paint but did not compromise the integrity of the hitch. The design works flawlessly even if the quality control could use some closer monitoring. All in all it’s still a great product. As you can see from the photos I doubled up the nylon locking nuts and have had no problems since.
