32x48 Reese Solo Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 400 lbs
I received the package in a pretty rough exterior condition but everything was fine inside. The previous comments about having to cut away the expanded metal flooring in order to install the carriage bolts wasn't true in my case. Apparently, this quality control issue has been addressed by the manufacturer. Assembly went well and wasn't complicated. A different carriage bolt with a longer square shoulder should be used. The shoulder doesn't grip too well to the square cutout in the frame and even while pressing firmly on the head of the bolt, it wanted to turn as I was tightening the nut. All in all, it seems to be a solid product and I look forward to using it.
I wish the load capacity was a bit higher, but overall I am satisfied with the cargo carrier. It is perfect for lugging my two dog crates behind my vehicle instead of inside the vehicle. Thank you for offering a dimensionally larger cargo carrier than most retailers.

24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
The rack is much bigger than my previous one. I was disappointed that it was made in China instead of the USA. It assembled very easily and the light kit works very well. The only draw back is I can no longer open my tailgate with the rack installed due to the spare tire hitting the raised rack.
This a very nice hitch rack. Well built, lots of space, long hitch tube works very well with Jeep Wrangler JL spare tire, however, you will not be able to open the swing tailgate with the rack on. Its not a big issue as it provides a good amount of clearance to the ground. If you use this carrier with one of the hitch rack cargo bags, it really adds to the cargo capacity of the rack. I have been very happy with this rack, I also like that you can add additional tail/brake lights to the rack.

24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
We just installed our carrier. We love that this is going to free up a lot of space for our vacation traveling. Very heavy duty and bigger than i was thinking it would be.The pin that holds the carrier in the hitch was not included. It would have been an added bonus if it was.
This cargo carrier fits perfectly behind my 2023 CR-V. I use it for hauling bags of grass to the yard waste. It is almost a two person job inserting it into the receiver though. Seems well made and well finished.

23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 4" Rise - Folding - 450 lbs
After purchasing a 2018 Honda CR-V Touring, my honey-to-do-task of having to bring trash to the dump every week must be done. I am not a big fan of placing trash inside my new car, despite having a rubber liner. So I purchased the Curt 2 inch receiver hitch and had it installed by my local mechanic. I did not want to have to hook up my small utility trailer to go to the dump since I have to go to work and park in a parking garage after making my trash drop off. I came across this Carpod M2205 walled carrier. I am thrilled with this and like the way it folds up when not in use. There was a simple assembly process to go through after it was received (quick shipping by the way). It is a little heavy placing into the hitch receiver, but note it is easier to place it into the hitch when folded up. I wrapped a piece of duct tape around the exact place of the insertion bar to line up the holes of the hitch pin. Its carrying capacity is well within what I need, and I am quite impressed. There is not much movement of the carrier while driving except for big bumps or potholes. This is an excellent alternative to carrying household garbage inside my new car. The walls are held in place with metal pins and a strap, that is a little short and could be a little bit longer. That would be my only complaint about using this car carrier. Otherwise, I highly recommend this for anyone who needs to carry items outside or to need more space.
I've owned the cargo carrier for 1 year now. I put it on the back of my Subaru Forester and I haven't taken it off yet. It's so useful for so many things, vacations, delivering big packages and taking items to the landfill it was a good purchase for me

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged, and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
This carrier worked out great. The tilt down feature is helpful to have but I didn't really need it. However, the fold up feature was helpful when driving around, so I recommend that as a convenience. The only thing I had trouble with was the hitch bolt. I have a Thule bike rack that I've used with my truck hitch receiver and never had a problem, but this rack's hitch bolt was a real pain to get in at first. Don't be dismayed. With the rack off of the vehicle, I used some WD-40 and some lithium grease on the bolt and then used an adjustable wrench to screw it in and out a number of times. I noticed a bunch of either paint or metal shards gumming up the threads on the bolt each time I removed it. After about 5 times of screwing it in and out, wiping off the bolt with a towel, adding some more grease once in a while, it got to the point that I could screw it in and out by hand pretty easily. Problem solved. I'm really happy with this rack. It fit two big coolers of food and beer plus beach umbrellas and other stuff. It's really strong and sturdy. The biggest issue was not the weight on the rack, but whether the rear suspension on the Highlander could hold it with our other junk in the back plus passengers. :-)

19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs
Purchased this 1 year ago. Worked awesome for a 9.000 mile cross country trip with three off road adventures at geology tour road Joshua tree, west side road Death Valley, and kingman wash lake mead. No rattle, always secure, great clearance. Would purchase again.
Excellent cargo toter. Used on 2 vacations last summer, Iowa to Tennessee and Iowa to Florida. Carried 72 quarts and 52 quarts coolers loaded with food and other assorted cargo. Used existing holes provided for ratchet straps, no problems. 5 adult passengers in our ‘17 F150, bed full of cargo and the toter loaded with food, carried the load well. Excellent trips!

GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - 420 lbs - Black
Perfect sized box for carry sized luggage and softball game day gear. Proven space saver. Receiver is showing signs of rust otherwise would be a ten. Would buy again.
The cargo carrier generally performed as intended, but it took a lot of tinkering and a warranty replacement of the lid to complete things to our satisfaction. On delivery we found that both two aluminum side stiffeners had been bent during shipment, and were replaced fairly quickly. We then found excessive play in the fit with the receiver, and it was impossible to accommodate a "noise reduction clamp" properly at the hitch, so I used part of a bent aluminum stiffener to apply pressure across the connection between the receiver and the hitch. And lastly, the lid section was warped by over 1", which still kept rain out, but did not keep fine dust out, and it was very unsightly. After a bit of discussion, a replacement lid was provided at no cost, which I have not yet had the chance to inspect as it was delivered to our Arizona home over the summer, and we spend the summer in Canada.

20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
Great design and sturdy. I got two hitch pin stabilizers for hitch and folding pin and it worked awesome. I use it for storage for cab over camper and the carrier fits flush with open tailgate. Carries generator water fire wood and I use it as a step to get into the camper.
Bought for my 2020 XC 40. I’ve taking it on several long distance hauls and it’s frees up a lot of space inside the car. I love that you can open the trunk and get items while having the carrier on. The car handles very well with is on. However I would suggest you buy a hitch stabilizer to stop rattling it make the car a carrier act as one. It folds up when not in use so nothing sticking out when not in use.

Swagman Expanse Cargo Carrier Review - 2022 Dodge Durango
Hi, Matt with etrailer. And today we're gonna be talking about the Swagman Expanse Cargo Carrier on the back of a 2022 Dodge Durango. This carrier can support about 400 pounds which is a little bit less than some of our other options. So when I stand up here trying to stand in the center not on the mesh itself, the vehicle kind of goes down a little bit, but not too much. So I think it's gonna perform pretty well with this cargo carrier. As for the mesh, if you put weight down on it directly, you're gonna notice a lot more give than if it was gonna be on the bar itself.
Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2022 Dodge Durango
Hi, Matt here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Flint Hill Goods steel compact cargo carrier, on the back of a 2022 Dodge Durango. Some of the features of this compact cargo carrier is that it can still hold the 500 pounds, just like most of our other cargo carriers. And, the vehicle's barely going down so it's interacting very nicely with it. So that's a a plus for it. And the back of it is, since it's compact, it's not gonna extend out nearly as far as a lot of other cargo carriers.
Flint Hill Goods Hitch Mounted Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2022 Dodge Durango
Hi Matt here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about our Flint Hills good aluminum cargo carrier on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. As for the capabilities of this cargo carrier, it's about a medium sized cargo carrier that can handle about 500 pounds. So if I get in the back of it, I'm about 250 pounds, just under, and the vehicle barely shifts down, so the vehicle handles it very nicely as well. As for putting anything inside the cargo carrier, the walls are pretty short on it, they're pretty shallow, so this would be a great cargo carrier for anything like bags or anything that might kind of spill over just a little bit. As for the dimensions, it's gonna be about 48 inches in an interior of the width, just over 21 inches for the length, and then on the bottom here we have just under 12 inches.

Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2021 Dodge Durango
Hey, everybody. Cooper here from etrailer, and today we're going to be taking a look at our Flint Hill Goods compact steel cargo carrier on our 2021 Dodge Durango. Now, our Durango does offer us a lot of space on the inside, but that space is filled with people who need their own luggage and space. We might find ourselves running out of room inside. So, our cargo carrier here could be an excellent reason to have some external storage or if you're going to the hardware store, picking up things like mulch, manure, maybe starting a spring project and we don't want that potentially to bust open on the inside and get our Durango dirty, again, this is a excellent option for keeping that outside your car while having a way to transport it. Now, our cargo carrier is weight rated for 500 pounds, which means I have no problem thinking that I can confidently stand within this basket.

While it's important to know what your cargo basket is rated for, also make sure you know what your hitch is rated for because if your hitch is rated for under what the basket is, you wanna make sure you're going from your lowest component.

Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Dodge Durango
What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Flint Hill Goods aluminum cargo carrier on this 2018 Dodge Durango. Car carriers a good option to have if you overload your Durango, you don't want certain equipment in there, maybe muddy or sweaty sports gear, you can put out here and it makes less of a mess on the car carrier than does on the inside. I always like that, 'cause you can spray this off far easier then detail on the inside of your car. One of the nice things about this version of the car carrier is it's gonna be aluminum, so that means it's lightweight. The bigger these get, sometimes the heavier they are.

Flint Hill Goods Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Dodge Durango FHG87ZR

Cargo carrier's a great way to carry that extra stuff you don't have room for inside the vehicle, or stuff you don't want inside. Much easier to clean this cargo carrier out than the inside. So if you get dirt or mud on there, you can just spray it off the hose, or it falls through here and it's not a problem.
MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Durango

Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango we're doing a test fit of the car pod walled cargo carrier. It's 23 by 47 with a 450 pound weight capacity and that part number is M2205. Now, the first thing we're going to do with it on our vehicle is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance here is going to be about 17 1/2 inches. That's because we've got that nice raised shank in the back, which is going to lift that even higher than the hitch. Overall to our vehicle we're adding abut 34 inches. Our closest point is going to be on our raised shank here, we've got about 5 inches there. Now, with our vehicle we do have a single passenger side exhaust, it does come just about straight out and level with that carrier, but we have about 14 1/2 inches between the two.

I've got a ground clearance of about 13 3/4 and from the back of the vehicle overall, we've got about 34 inches and from the rear of the vehicle to the first point it might hit, is about 13 inches. Now as you can see down here, this is just a pin and clip to hold in the cargo carrier, so it will allow a little bit of rattle. That's pretty normal with any cargo carrier that is just a pin and clip.

What our customers are saying:
"The trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier is an outstanding accessory. It allowed us to bring so much more on vacation. The side rails made securing things really easy and the auxiliary taillight kit plugged right into my plug. The service was so great that I just ordered a trailer hitch cover for the winter. Thanks!"
