Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - Worm Gear - Loop Drive - Ceiling Mount - 1,500 lbs
I purchased two of the DL10954 units to hang a Kayak and Paddleboard above my vehicle in my garage. The units were heavy duty, much more than I expected. I have added some pictures of my installation. Now anyone in the family can lower them and get to them when needed. Thanks Mark
I am only using this to lift 150-200 lbs, taking a topper off and on my truck. It works great, but I switched the loop for a hex drive. A bit of warning, I managed to burn up the motor on a $200 Ridgid 18V drill. For some reason I didn't have issues with my cheaper Ridgid drill, but still something to be aware of.

Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - TUFFPLATE Finish - 2 Speed - Direct Drive - 3,200 lbs
Super beefy and after a years worth of use it still works as good as the day it was installed. I went a lot bigger then the factory winch on my trailer and I am glad I did. This thing drags my boat up without breaking a sweat.
I’m using two of these on a floating dock that fluctuates seasonally due to TVA water release during the winter. They hold plenty of cable & are heavy duty enough to move the dock as needed.

Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - Worm Gear - Hex Drive - 2,000 lbs
Works perfectly. I’m using the winch to lift a heavy (100 lb) cast iron effluent pump. The pump occasionally needs to have float switches replaced and the winch makes this job much easier.
Fantastic, well built, expected to see cheap socket welded onto the handle, nope, instead there was welded a quality 5/8" "PROTO" socket.. impressive! Just what I needed.

Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - Worm Gear - Hex Drive - 1,500 lbs
I am building a setup to raise and lower an ameteur radio tower. Purchased a winch from a hardware chain store, it looked just like yours and was $25 cheaper. It was rated for 2000lbs, but stripped out at only 200lbs and left my hanging with tower raise only 30 degrees, yes I had a scale on one of the cables. Replaced with your product today, it didn't even strain, even though it is rated for 500 lbs less. Lesson learned. Great product and btw I've had the same winch installed on another tower for years, has worked flawlessly.
Just received the winch! Excellent quality from first blush. Will have to wait a week or two before I can test its lifting capability. I have installed it in a wall position, using cable and pulleys attached to the ceiling to lift something up next to the ceiling occasionally.

Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - TUFFPLATE Finish - 2 Speed - Direct Drive - 2,000 lbs
Installation was simple. I haven’t pulled the boat out yet with the new winch but it should be better than the 1600 lb one that was there.
This is the first boat trailer winch I've owned that I believe is heavy duty enough for my boat. My suggestion to anyone shopping for a boat winch is to buy one much larger than the ratings say. That being said, I love this winch and would highly recommend it.

Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - TUFFPLATE Finish - Single Speed - 1,100 lbs
Excellent service, items were well packed, install straight forward. Works great!
The winch has held it's finish. no rust noted after a year. Mine is mounted to an antenna pole to lift the 25' mast. Nice addition to my project.

Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch - Marine - 3,000 lbs
Shopped around a lot before I bought this. My boat is heavy (7500 lb) and the wench I had struggled. I took a chance on this as it was rated for the weight. I used the Anderson style connectors and installed a breaker near the battery. Pulled new wire rated for the amp draw. I couldnt be happier! This thing is a beast! Has no prob pulling my boat and cant see that it struggles at all. Highly reccomend. Photo is during installation. I put a cover over it due to my anchor comes close when launching and didnt want it to hit.
Installed cables. 35A breaker is not insulated and required additional cable to connect to modern battery terminal - so had to buy an insulated breaker. On first use, the small gear on the motor drive shaft fell off because it was installed at the factory without a snap ring. Luckily I found it and fashioned a snap ring for temporary use to load the boat (see picture). Then learned the clutch was set excessively low - would not pull anything close to 1000 pounds. Manual says to not adjust clutch more than 20 degrees, but that would not pull as much as a 2000 lb ratchet strap. I see the other good reviews on this product, but clearly mine was built with some serious QC issues. Hard day on the boat ramp. Grateful for the help and patience of fellow boaters. I am beyond the 60 days to return this product since I bought and installed it over the winter to enjoy this boating season.

Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Trailer Winch - Marine - 1,500 lbs
I had to grind a little bit off the gussets on the mounting plate on my Tracker trailer to mount the winch but the bolt pattern was perfect. The electric cable that was provided with the winch wasn't quite long enough for my 4 door F150 so I used my wife's Explorer with the cable provided and got a longer cable and fuse for my pickup and then put a plug at the rear of both vehicles and a plug to the winch so I can use either vehicle. The winch pulled our 16'Tracker boat up on the trailer easily and I discovered you had tighten the gear locking mechanism quite snug or it would slip. I noticed the pulling belt on the winch is not quite as heavy as the one on my hand winch and I plan on swapping it out. Other than that, I am happy with my purchase.
Works great! The only thing that would make it better is to make the tensioner knob easier to grip when your hands are wet

Dutton-Lainson TW4000 StrongArm Electric Winch - Marine - 1,500 lbs
Put this winch on my Ranger 620 boat trailer a year ago and love it! Haven't had a single problem and it helps trailering when I fish alone. I ran power and ground from my truck battery to a back bumper plug, and have a separate removable cable (shown in pic) to connect truck plug to the winch plug. Grounding to the truck didn't work for me. I have another spare cable and plug rolled up and attached to my trolling motor battery for when my buddies drive. Winch prevents power loading and drawing sand into the motor. DL24055 adapter plate was needed and I put a coupler lock up through the middle of the winch to prevent theft and I bought a cover (shown in pic) to keep the rain out. etrailer sales and support are absolutely fabulous! They helped me figure all this out.
Works great, fit my trail weight boat trailer, with a 24 foot pontoon
What our customers are saying:
"Great parts supply and the item I needed you could not find anywhere where I live. Perfect for my golf trailer with 15 tires."
