So far everything has worked out great. The hitch was received quickly and the assembly was very easy, with directions very clear. The hitch installed into the existing rails as the person who helped me said thy would. I have not yet hooked up to my 5th wheel because it is in storage for the winter but as easy as it works I have no doubt it will work great.

This can be easily put together and installed by one person. I had to put the base into the universal rails loosely and then torque the bolts to spec. This hitch was an upgrade.from the autoslide hitch I originally purchased for my 5th wheel. The noise and banging has disappeared. This hitch was well worth the money. I also purchased the custom fit wedge for my pinbox. I don't believe I could be any happier with this hitch.

I was very pleased with the Curt A16 5th wheel hitch. Unfortunately I ended up buying a new truck.(I no longer have a need for this hitch). My new truck has a shorter bed which requires a different hitch.

We have the turning point pin on our rig so we had to get a wedge. I don't know if it was the wedge or the hitch but unless we were perfectly straight and level, we couldn't hitch up. Same with unhitching. After the 3rd time of not being able to unhitch without taking the entire head of the hitch off, we locked up the turning point and got a new hitch and do not use a wedge. Also, with only a bar going across, the pin seemed to wiggle around a lot.

They advertise you can be within 3” of hitch and still connect I found that you need to be almost perfect. And to latch and unlatch there can’t be any pressure going up or weight going down, you have about a 1/4” to play with. I found it to be rougher when pulling than a normal fifth wheel hitch. It is very light though.

We have the Anderson Hitch installed on our 2017 Ford SuperDuty and pull a Reflection 337RLS. We have traveled over 4,000 miles and have been extremely satisfied. The hitch allows plenty of clearance between 5th wheel, bed, and the truck cab. Hook-up and disconnect has always been easy, even with RV lots that were uneven dirt lots. I use Curt thin rubber sound dampeners (item 16900) and this provides a quiet, tight fit between the rails and hitch. Of course the light weight makes it easy to remove when not towing and less weight when you are towing. A great product for the right truck, trailer combination.

Putting the hitch together was easy following the instructions, it seems to be was built...time will tell. I only used the hitch one time for only a 60 mile tow...hitching and unhitching was a breeze

Parts arrived for the DM 8550043, received only the hitch base plate and adjustable shaft for the hitch head. Have been told that the hitch head is shipped separately. Now have a problem with the hitch plate fitting the bed rails. The holes for the pin that secures the hitch plate to the rails are to close to the bottom of the hitch plate photos are given of the problem a pencil was used for reference. There is NO WAY the pin will go through the rail and hitch plate. Waiting on a solution from etrailer. The hole that you can barely see the pencil is tailgate rails pin fits fine.

The truck that got the install is a 2002 Ford F350 Super Duty 7.3 L Diesel dually. The Demco Recon 5th wheel hitch (DM8550043) looks like a well made, heavy duty hitch. All the welds are precise and well done. I like the single wrap around jaw with the real thick bar that backs that up. The handle that pulls out to unlock the jaw moves with ease and locks in the out position when the jaw opens. When the king pin comes in contact with the back of jaw, the jaw wraps around the king pin, the handle closes, you put in the safety pin and your ready to go RVing. I chose the Husky Custom Rails and installation kit (HT31405-686) for my install. The reason I chose these rails over the ones that etrailer had matched up for the hitch is, I had previously installed a set of Airlift Airbags and I didn't want the rail install to interfere with the airbags. It was a good choice, there was no interference at all. If I had not had the bags, I would have chose the rails and install kit that require no drilling. Drilling the holes went very fast and easy, it was torking the rear bolts down that was very difficult. There was not enough room to get a wrench of any kind around the nut. I wound up using a set of vise grips on the nut while a friend of mine torked the bolt slowly from above. All and all I'm happy with the product and I'll give another review in a year.

Finally got my new B&W Companion Gooseneck to 5th wheel hitch installed in the bed of my 2024 Ford F250 Lariat. While I have not pulled my fifth wheel yet, I have hooked up to check clearances, etc. first thing I noticed was how easy hooking up and unhooking was with this witch. This hitch is solid and I look forward to many miles traveling with it. My truck has 6.7 foot bed and in the picture I will send you will notice I still had room for a 43 gallon auxiliary fuel tank. I wanted to be able to easily utilize my truck bed and this hitch provides that in spades! Easy to remove and install. I absolutely have to give a shout out to Paula on customer service. She was amazing! My first shipment was damaged and missing a vital part. Paula had another one shipped right away and made my return shipment a breeze. She stayed in contact with me to the end. I felt like she shared in my joy once the install was complete! The hitch is super adjustable for optimal placement in the bed and height of the trailer. Make a few quick measurements and it just goes together quickly. Love the dual jaw release lever. Our last 5th wheel hitch had the standard pull to release lever and it was often very difficult to operate. This lever style is a game changer. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the product and customer service!

Just received yesterday, will be having it installed on Monday and will be pulling my new camper home next Saturday. Will update afterwards with pics

Love how this comes apart making it EASY to remove from truck bed and re-install. Easy to assemble with standard hand tools and torque wrench. When the snow clears here in Montana I will THEN hookup the 5th wheel to the hitch. By the end of camping season 2025 I will return to provide an update. Photos show one box (hitch head) that UPS delivered promptly without damage. The other box (hitch base) UPS took on a tour of the east coast and as a result was loaded and off-loaded from many many more trucks. The boxes aren't designed for that. Result was a torn-up box that UPS tried to keep together with tape. Fortunately, the contents were 'contained' within the box, and nothing was damaged as a result. That issue is not a B&W nor an eTrailer fault in my opinion.

Etrailer quick delivery 3 days to Cali. Hitch is Very stout construction excellent welding, very easy to assemble! My only negative response is that the packaging. Hitch had a couple scratches due to it bouncing around while in transit. B&W should improve their packaging.

Truly happy with this product and can't wait to go to work! etrailer sent me everything I requested and the installer had no problems. Everything was packed well in shipping with no problems.

Very good quality and well made fifth wheel hitch...No problems

I bought a new trailer recently that weighs 16k and I just didn't feel secure using my Reese pro series 16k to Haul with. So I started looking at various hitches. I've had 3 other fifth wheel hitches in the past. All of them have been 15 and 16k models. What I never liked was the latching system. I've even had a trailer come out of the hitch due to a poor latching hook up. There wasn't an good way to lock the hitch. Some of it was my fault and some was a poor design. When I saw the Curt Q20 had a latch on the handle and also was color coded I was hooked. This hitch satisfied my want list. It arrived 4 days after I ordered it and like other comments I've read it was full of heavy duty staples. It was double packaged. There had to be over 50 staples. It was defiantly packaged securely. After dimantaling the packing I finally got to the hitch. There were a few scratches on the hitch from all the staples but a bit of black touch up paint took care of that. After all the hitch is going to be used and get scrached by me anyways. Four bolts and it was together. It fit perfictly it my existing rails. By the way it's heavier than my other hitches. I wound be apprehensive to pull my new trailer. If your looking for a great hitch at a great price you can't go wrong.

Hitch works great, can now hook up to trailer without having to stop & put up tailgate, then finish backing up. Tailgate would hit front of trailer when hooking up. The two things I didn’t like as well as others, the box with the base unit was tore up, but unit was fine , and the cotter pins for puck latches need to include extras, or make holes bigger for keeper pins. Also added small chains to hairpins that hold look pins for top so they don’t get lost.

Very well built but thats CURT. When towing very quite and stable.

Just installed my 5th wheel. (mechanically inclined) 30 minutes and done. Whoever thought of the puck system in the newer trucks is a genius! BW made this bad boy heavy duty. Was all I could do to lift frame in place. Put in place loosened all bolts and it fit in place like a glove. Torqued bolts and cannot wait to get my new toyhauler hitched up!!

WOW.....I consider myself pretty handy but between the instructions and youtube...this installation was simple. Very solid....so very impressed.....I have a rubber mat in my bed and it took longer to cut holes put than installing the 5th wheel....I just can't say enough good things about this hitch. This is my first 5th wheel hitch. Great looks, build quality, and component is easy to operate correctly for a confident hitching experience. Highly recommended. I like the Reese hitch for my Ford F350, it pulls great and has no signs of wear on the hitch after pulling for over 5320 miles.

Install was easy and the hitch performs perfectly. I have ZERO complaints. Even a year later, it performs great.

I traded my Curt 16k slider hitch for this new crosswing It definitely moved my trailer back 5 inches and I do not see the need for the slide hitch I rarely used. It is lightweight and easy to manage by yourself ( my old one was just too heavy ) The new hitch has nearly eliminated all of the chucking and bucking.

I have ran a cheap competitor hitch for several years. A manufacturing defect (welded pivot pin) caused the hitch to fail and resulted in 18000$ damage to my truck and trailer. I chose the Curt 25000# hitch after much research and found it to be very well made and clearly shows when it is properly coupled. It is quiet and operates with minimal klunking and chunking going down the road. Overall I am very pleased.

Mounted this hitch on my flatbed 3500 Ram and the hitch works flawlessly. Pull 44' tri-axle weighing in at 23,000# with ease. Very easy to use and understand, very easy to maintain.

I like it’s design and how it sits in the bed. It seems to want to rotate some while pulling. I see some reviews that other people are having this problem also. Some have put a bolt down through the base into the truck bed. I haven’t wanted to do that as of yet. Otherwise I like the hitch.

Part was delivered vey damaged. Looks like a couple thousand miles has already been put on it and it’s not even installed yet! Missing Lynch pin .313 is missing! Not happy at all.
