Forged, Self-Latching Jaw

Self-Latching Jaw

The one-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel hitch provides absolute security with its wraparound design. Increased jaw-to-king-pin contact results in not only a stronger connection, but less noisy rattling and stiff chucking as well.

The jaw is also always ready to receive, so you don't need to use the handle to open it before backing up toward your trailer. As long as the bail pin is removed from the latching handle, the jaw will accept the king pin as it enters the hitch.

Finally, the jaw is self-latching, so it will automatically secure your trailer's king pin when it moves into the jaw.

Quiet, Comfortable Ride

Pivot Bushings

In addition to the tight jaw tolerance, a close connection between the head and the pivot bushings further reduces rattle and movement. And because the pivot bushings are independent from the head, they can be tightened to ensure a strong connection over time.

King Pin Indicator Prevents High Pinning

King Pin Indicator

This M5 hitch features a built-in king pin indicator to ensure proper hookup. This indicator is located on the back of the head along with a V-shaped notch that are both visible from the cab of your truck. The V-notch is lined up with the jaw at the front of the hitch, and can be used as a guiding point to line the king pin up with the jaw as you back up your truck. The jaw also has an internal plate that keeps the king pin from entering if it is too high to enter safely. As a result, the king pin indicator will only change from red to green if the king pin is fully engaged in the jaw.

Easy-to-Use Latching Handle

Lever and Hitch

This hitch's handle is designed for smooth motion and effortless operation. It requires only 2 fingers to use and won't bind up as you pull. In addition, the handle is long, so it's easy to access from outside of your truck bed. And the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to hold and pull from different angles.

  • Recommended Aftermarket Underbed Puck System for 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500
For your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500, the manufacturer puck system is not available in aftermarket but there is a very similar option to give you the 4 pucks. It is the Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30868. This system is a confirmed fit for your truck and if you want to also add the 5th hole for the gooseneck you can do that using the Reese Elite Series Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Head Kit - 25,000 lbs # RP30158. This...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2012 Ram Mega Cab with Reese Elite/Ford Puck Pattern
Reese made the aftermarket puck system you are referring to and also created the puck system for Ford. The system you reference is called the Reese Elite Underbed # RP30074 and will be compatible with the Ford Prep Package hitches. For the best towing experience, I recommend using the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Ford Super Duty Prep Package - 18K # DM8550024. This will fit in the pucks and also give you the automatic sliding to provide proper turning clearance...

  • Comparing Reese Elite and M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch
The Reese Hitch M5 Fifth Wheel # RP30921 has the edge over the Elite part RP30142 that you also mentioned. They both share very similar heads/jaws and provide excellent king pin contact but the advantage the M5 has is that it has cushioning built into it to provide a smoother ride quality. With the RP301412 you'd use the included universal wedge of your Reese Revolution and for the M5 you would want to use the RP44FR. You'd want to use the short end of it.

  • Information for Installation of a 5th Wheel Hitch on a Truck with a 5 Foot 6 Inch Box
When towing a fifth-wheel trailer behind a truck with a 5 foot 6 inch box, a Sidewinder replacement pin box will be required. The Sidewinder pin box will move the pivot point for the trailer back 22 inches, providing clearance, in most cases, for making sharp turns with the fifth-wheel trailer attached to the truck. On some trucks with a bed less than 6 feet long, trailers that are very wide, like 102 inches, cannot be towed even with a Sidewinder, so measuring closely ahead of time is...

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch That Fits in Pucks of 2017 Ford F-350 With 8-Foot Bed
There are a number of high-quality fifth-wheel hitches that will fit into the puck system of your 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty. Reese makes two of those, called the Elite Series, which is available in towing capacities of 20,000lbs # RP30921 and 27,000lbs # RP30921. In between those weight ranges is the Demco Hijacker # DM8550033, which has a 21,000 lb capacity. Finally there is Curt, which has different fifth-wheel hitches that will fit in the pucks of your F-350's bed. The A16 # C16520-16017...

  • Trailer Hitch Options for a 2012 Ford F-350 With Factory 5th Wheel Prep Package
The fifth wheel prep package that you have on your 2012 Ford F-350 is compatible with the Reese M5 Series fifth wheel hitches. There are two M5 Series fifth wheel hitches that are available, the M5 Series 20K hitch and the M5 Series 27K hitch, # RP30922. If your fifth wheel trailer weighs more than 18,000 lbs when it is fully loaded, then I recommend the 27K hitch. If you have a short bed truck you'll also need to use a sidewinder pin box to push the pivot point of your trailer back 22"...

  • Recommended Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Hitch to Tow a 16,800 lb GVWR Trailer with a 2017 F-350
We typically recommend having about 1,000 lbs - 2,000 lbs worth of cushion between your loaded trailer and the max weight capacity of your 5th wheel hitch. Even if you were to load your trailer up to the 16,800 lbs though I believe that you would be just fine with the Reese M5 20K # RP30142. This fits directly to the puck system in your 2017 Ford F-350. It weighs about 154 lbs but you can remove the head, which weighs about 50 lbs, to help make installing and removing the hitch easier. The...

  • Recommended Fifth-Wheel Hitch to Pair With Reese Revolution King Pin Hitch on 2015 Silverado 2500
There are a number of very good fifth-wheel hitches available for you to choose from, but their fit depends on the truck you have. In that regard, you will want to stay away from short-bed trucks, which you can classify as anything with a bed that is under 8 feet. The correct hitch is going to also depend on if you purchase a truck with a factory fifth-wheel prep package. Sliding hitches should not be used with the Revolution, and there are a few other fifth wheel hitches that are not...

You can use either a Sidewinder pin box or a sliding 5th wheel hitch to achieve a 90 degree turn with the 6-3/4' bed on your 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty. The most hassle-free setup would be to install a Sidewinder on your Jayco and then use a stationary 5th wheel hitch in your F-250. • Best Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Ford F-250 without OEM Rail Kit
Thanks for all of the details on your towing setup as they are very helpful. Since you have a pivoting pin box that means you can use a fixed fifth wheel hitch and have the turning clearance needed to make tight turns. Normally this require a sliding hitch so that you have cab to trailer nose clearance.
