Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
We were looking for a cargo box to fit our 2021 Mazda CX-5. Finally decided on the Thule Pulse L based on other reviews and pictures. We have the box mounted on OEM cross bars. The box is a perfect fit - clears the fin and doesn’t interfere with the hatch. It was so easy to install too. I am pretty sure this is the largest box that we can use on this vehicle. The width just about takes up the entire space. We haven’t taken it on its maiden voyage yet but so far the fit is great.
Excellent car top carrier (not that I've had many to compare it to). Easy to install and remove, sturdy, and fits well on our Toyota Siena. Opening it is a little tricky, as sometimes the top sticks to the bottom a bit. Adds a lot of extra storage to our car, great for when we go camping. Great experience with etrailer.

Rhino-Rack Zenith MasterFit Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - High Gloss Black
This was a great experience from start to finish. etrailer: After placing the order, I called regarding shipping and quickly got the answer to my question. The box shipped by ground freight, and arrived almost a week before the original scheduled delivery date. The Rhino arrived perfect with protective wrap, and all the required parts. Rhino Rack: This thing is awesome. Unless you jump up into the $1000+ price point, your rooftop carrier options are limited. My two requirements were to fit my skis (181 & 183 cm) and to allow my tailgate to open fully. The Rhino delivered! Bonus that both baby strollers fit as well (Instep baby trailer and Vista Uppababy). Only a week in, but so far the Rhino box and MasterFit clamps seem solid. The ratchet/locking mechanism on the clamps is just ok, you don't have to twist too hard to over power the lock or feel like you are stripping something internally. The hinges are beefy, but don't take up a ton of storage space. It opens from both sides, and you can't remove the key unless it's locked, which is nice for those of us that don't enjoy picking up our stuff on the highway. Also, if you're like me and spent way too much time on mr-box.com, you'll be pleased to know that this thing doesn't look lame. It's pretty sleek, somewhat low profile, with a touch of Euro. It's not too wide, even on the narrow rails of the A4 Allroad there's extra bar space. I could probably squeeze an upright kayak rack, small ski pinchers, or for the ten of us in the world that own RoadShowers...the RoadShower 4 fits no problem. I definitely recommend a Rhino from etrailer.
Application = 2021 Subaru WRX Base. Perfectly functional, and a great look.

Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carrier - 9 cu ft - Black
The box itself is ok. It is sturdy but not very aerodynamic. It will definitely increase your MPGs. The mounting hardware is trash. There is so much paint in the threads that it makes it very difficult to screw the bolds resulting in a couple of the brackets to be cross threaded. I contacted consumer service and was told that the hardware was not under warranty and that I needed to buy another set of hardware.
Customer service goes a long way in my book and how an item is presented on its website I've boughten stuff from etrailer before for my prior truck and always had an amazing experience with Etrailer.this is my first cargo box for my new to me Subaru Impreza sport hatchback and doing research on buying one wasn't easy but etrailer made the process quick and painless with exactly what I needed and dimensions were spot on and instructions were perfect couldn't be any more happier with my purchase.the trunx's brand box perfectly compliments my car and looks awesome on it thanks again etrailer you guys rock

SportRack Horizon Rooftop Cargo Box - 11 cu ft - Black
Easy to mount and lightweight. Voluminous for the price point.
Wish it was 5 in less in length and 5in less in height with the understanding that it cuts down on cu vol. Door mechanism and lock seem a little flimsy. But otherwise good for the $. Delivery came on time and in tact.

Thule Force XT L Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black AeroSkin
The box is great, kept everything dry. No noise or rattle. Dont skimp out on a good set of rack bars. Easy install. Made it 3000 miles up the AlCan highway.
This is one tough box... First time I used the carrier I was in Philly at the US Mint and needed to find a quick parking space; not an easy task in downtown Philly. Not being familiar with the area and forgetting that I had a roof top carrier on my Cadillac, I proceeded to enter an underground parking garage... yes, with less clearance than I needed for my vehicle with the rooftop box installed! As we ascended the spiral ramp my wife & I heard an unusual loud scraping sound... yep, the rooftop box scraping the ceiling of the spiral ramp. With cars behind me I had no options but to continue forward to the next parking floor. I was expecting to see a destroyed Cargo Box when I was finally able to exit the ramp; however, this was not the case. We scrambled to remove the rooftop box and put it inside our SUV and continue on to the Mint and; believe it or not, there were only a few minor scratches on the top of the carrier. Really glad it was flexible and extremely rugged! If it were not, the situation could have easily been a disaster. I highly recommend both this rooftop box & etrailer... both have served us well

Thule Vector Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box - 13 Cubic Ft - Gloss Black
It's been a year and have used the Thule Vector Alpine cargo box for ski trips and over the summer for regular trips. The box fit 4 pairs of skis with a little extra room for soft stuff. For regular trips it fit plenty of bags and allowed us to use the third row of seating in the car. The box looks great on the car and the fact that it opens up from both side is extremely helpful.
Incredible roof box! It fits everything we need it to (including 190+cm skis!) and looks great on our 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Highly recommended! My only slight complaint is the lights tend to fall out of their holders, but they're easily put back. A more secure mount would be a welcome improvement.

Yakima SkyBox 12 Rooftop Cargo Box - 12 cu ft - Black Carbonite
Super high-quality box. The latches, hinges, and attachment points are excellent quality, and the box is light enough to easily install by myself. It has already carried many pairs of skis, snowboards, canoe paddles, and other long stuff that doesn't fit inside a Tesla Model 3. Everything inside has always remained clean and dry when driving in wet weather. The attachment points interface perfectly with the car's OEM roof rack, also made in USA by Yakima.
It was an adventure to get to fit on outback factory installed rails with it being a so close together but was able to flip the locking feet to get every to fit nice and tight look great and no wind noise.

Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Glossy
This rooftop cargo carrier is exactly what I wanted. Well made and super easy to install. Thank you for the fast service.
The box is big (XL), shiny and sleek. Looks great on our 2021 Subaru Ascent. It weighs about 40lbs, so I was able to simply lift it up and onto the stock Subaru cross bars by myself with a bit of effort going towards balance. Then it was just a matter of attaching the clamps by hand tightening them. I don’t think it could get any easier. The locking mechanism is very assertive and secure. The box is big and can hold just about anything you’d need on a road trip. However, on a midsize SUV like the Ascent, it seems like the perfect size, not too small, not too big. It’s a good fit. Unfortunately, my small 2 car garage is too low to accommodate the vehicle with the box in place. Overall it’s a very refined and well thought out package.

Thule Force XT XXL Rooftop Cargo Box - 22 cu ft - Black AeroSkin
Coming up on a year owning this great Thule Force XT XXL Rooftop Cargo Box. Installed it on a medium high-top Ford Transit to travel with a big family and not have all our gear stuffed inside with us. Haven't taken it off - no wind noise, no rattles, not fading after a year in the southeast US climate, and huge capacity - we lined up several carry-on sized suitcases in there without a problem. Very satisfied!
This has been the best investment we have made since buying our minivan. There’s 5 of us and the baby has CP so we carry a wheelchair, walker and folding wagon with us inside. The Thule xt handles all of our luggage keeping the inside pretty much clean and clear. This thing is very easy to install with two people. Can be a challenge for one person as it’s awkward to pick up and put on top of van. Highly recommend it if you are thinking about getting one.

Inno Shadow 16 Rooftop Cargo Box - 13 cu ft - Matte Black
Great cargo box. Arrived early, fits on my 2013 Toyota Highlander with no issues. Fits through my garage door too which is exactly what I was looking for.
I received the Inno on Friday and set it up this weekend. It looks fantastic! I really think it's the best designed cargo box for Subarus.

Thule Sidekick Roof Mounted Cargo Carrier Box - U-Bolt Mounts - 8 Cubic Feet
The roof mount carrier was easy to install on our Subaru Ascent and has held up well during our many road trips. We purchased it mainly to hold our two sets of golf clubs and they fit perfectly, but with little room to spare. When the carrier arrived I was a bit concerned as the material that it is made of seemed a bit flimsy, but so far so good. No issues.
Nothing like the Thule Box I bought in the 90's that carried 80 pounds of gear for 15 years out on top of the car without wearing or fading. This box is made of much thinner material, flexes too much, the bar attachment hardware is cheap, the plastic nuts quickly cross-thread and the rods are already corroding, locks are fussy. The box bends under modest loading; will not be buying Thule cargo stuff anymore.

Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Black
I've taken one 1500 mile trip so far with the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 mounted on my RAV4. I found the box to be quiet and not to have much impact on gas mileage. I lost maybe 1 mpg with it mounted to my flush mounted Whisperbars. I drove through some very heavy rain and had a minimal amount of water inside under a thin rubber mat I had placed on the bottom of the box; none on my luggage got wet. This box works great to give me more carrying capacity when traveling with my two crated Dobermans.
Pretty good. The locking mech is a little funky but it swallows the beach chairs and other sandy stuff no problem. Make sure you watch the videos Yakima has on YouTube. They are very helpful for first timers. I found that if you use the Yakima website to get the part list right you can order wherever you want. Yup can even pull into the garage. My only gripe is that etrailer showed all parts in stock but several pieces were actually back ordered. Luckily everything arrived in time for my trip.

Malone Cargo16 Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 Cubic ft - Gray
Pro: This box is a perfect option to add to the cargo capacity of my Toyota RAV4. Great for camping, fishing or skiing trips (but watch out that your XC skies don't exceed the length capacity of the box!). Pro: The box fits onto Malone cross bars very securely: once screwed down it's solid. Install and removal is very easy. Con: The front arm that holds the box lid open is attached with a rubber-covered pin at the front, and a metal retainer at the rear, see photos. Without the locking metal retainer, the front arm pops loose off the lid's pin. Initially I thought this was a mfg defect, but this is how it's built. etrailer contacted Malone and both provided great support. Malone sent me a new rubber grommet to insert on the pin at the front arm. But that didn't fix the problem at all. In the end, I replaced the rubber grommet with a metal bolt that permanently attaches the front support arm with the box lid. Would I buy this product again? Probably not.
We received our Malone Cargo Box and are very happy with it. It was installed on a 2016 Subaru Outback. For us, it holds two complete sets of golf clubs, golf shoes, balls, a bag of miscellaneous tie downs, and a small metal carrying case with wheels. We haven't used it on a long trip yet, but locally it's very stable. There is some strong wind noise when the sunroof is open. We also needed to use shims on the rear crossbar to prevent the pod from hitting the antenna. You can access this Box from either side which is nice. Overall we're happy with our purchase.
What our customers are saying:
"The hitch and the carrier came in much earlier than expected. The cargo carrier assembled in a few minutes. The hitch went on like a glove. I was very satisfied with it's quality. My salesperson was very helpful and made sure that I had the right things. Overall, I was very pleased."
