Hello, neighbor. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Reese Ball Mount for 2 Inch Hitches rated at 7,500 pounds with a 6 inch drop or a 4 3/4 inch rise. Folks, a ball mount like this will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank will slide into your 2 inch by 2 inch hitch receiver tube, and both the drop or rise option are available with this shank. It is made of a solid steel construction.

It's heavy duty. It's been black powder coated for a nice corrosion-resistant finish. You would need a hitch pin and clip sold separately that would go through here to attach it to the vehicle. I recommend a locking one. You can get them here at etrailer.com.

And you also need a ball with a shank diameter of 1 inch thick. Now, as I said, this is rated at 7,500 pounds capacity. The length from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole is 10 5/16 inches center to center. Now the drop, like it is now, is 6 inches from the inside of the hitch opening, so the top part of the hitch opening on your vehicle, down to the level part, 6 inches. And if you flip it over to the rise, same thing.

The top inside of your hitch opening up to the platform would be 4 3/4 inches. So, again, you'd use it in the rise or the drop. A nice solid piece by Reese, and, folks, they do have the included gusset welded there. That's for extra support. And, again, that 1 inch diameter hole for the ball.
