Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this CURT aluminum ball mount for your two inch trailer hitch receiver. Now this ball mount is really gonna be a great option for you to consider if you want something strong but easy to deal with. This is made from forged aluminum, so it's going to be a lot lighter than your traditional steel mounts, which is going to make it easier to handle when you're installing or swapping it out, but you're still getting plenty of strength. In terms of capacity, this is going to give you a gross towing rate or a gross trailer weight of 8,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 800 pounds. So that's gonna be plenty for most common towing needs.
Plus, this has been tested to meet recognized safety standards, so you know it's built with reliability in mind. This is also designed to be pretty flexible. When you have it in this orientation this is going to give you about a two-inch drop. When you flip it over like this, you're gonna get about a one inch rise, so that's gonna help you keep your trailer level depending on your setup. That adjustability is gonna make it useful across different vehicles or trailers.
Now one thing that a lot of people like about this is this will indeed hold up well over time. The aluminum construction resists rust and corrosion, so whether you're dealing with rain, dirt, or sun exposure, this is built to last without getting all worn out. Fit wise, it's straightforward. It's gonna slide into your standard two inch trailer hitch receiver, so there's no hassle there. You will need a pin and clip to secure this or a hitch lock, whichever option's gonna work best for you.
We do have those options available here at etrailer and this is going to work with a typical trailer ball. This has a one inch in diameter ball hole here. So I went ahead and just looked up real quick what we had in regards to a two inch hitch ball that would fit this. So this is just just an option if you're looking for just a standard two inch. This is gonna be chrome plated.
So you can just take that part number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search folder or a website, that will take you to that two inch ball that will fit this one inch ball hole and you can add that to your order. Something else that might be of interest to you is the length. So let me try to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end here of our shank. So basically this is what's going to be sticking out for the most part from your trailer hitch receiver. So as I hope you can see we're sitting right at eight and 1/2 inches. The overall length if that's important to you, pretty close to 11 inches. And then from the middle of our hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, pretty close to two and 1/2 inches. I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

An anti-rattle device should do the trick. If the one you purchased does not work out for you, we have several here at etrailer including Item # e99007.
