Did not fit my RTV 500 but I will use some place. Very nice unit I was hoping for RTV I guess the frame was made different this s the third one I try I was hoping it would work. The product is excellent will be happy to use on another unit Thanks for the help

Does Curt ATV Ball Mount C45009 Have a Towing Weight or Class Rating
The Curt ATV Ball Mount # C45009 does not have a specific towing weight rating, nor a class rating, because its capacity will exceed that of virtually any ATV and ATV hitch. The Polaris Rangers vary in their towing capacity depending on the specific model. The XP900 is indeed rated for 2000-lbs, but the model 570 is rated for 1500-lbs and the XP1000 is rated for 2500-lbs. This ball mount is fine for use with any of these since it will have a higher capacity than the hitch and the ATV itself.

Distance from Clevis hole to End of Ball Mount on Curt ATV Ball Mount
I've attached a diagram to show some other helpful measurements for the Curt Ball Mount for 2" ATV Hitches # C45009 . The measurement from the center of the clevis hole to the end of the hitch is approximately 10"; it is approximately 7-1/2" from the center of the clevis hole to the center of the hitch pin and approximately 2-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin to the end of the ball mount. It is also 6" from the center of the hitch pin to the center of the ball mount.

Recommended Ball Mount With Clevis For ATV Towing
A hitch ball will give you better control for backing up your travel trailer with your ATV. I recommend the Curt Ball Mount for 2" ATV Hitches - 2" Ball and Clevis Bar - 1/4" Rise # C45009. This will give you the clevis as well as a 2 inch ball for your application. If you need the entire system, I recommend the Curt ATV Towing Starter Kit - 2" Receiver - 6" Long Ball Mount - 2" Hitch Ball # C45038.

Clevis Hole to Strap Post Measurement on Curt ATV Ball Mount # C45009
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Curt ATV Ball Mount, # C45009. From the end of the Clevis hole to the strap post there is 1-1/8 inches of space. I took a few other measurements which I have included in a picture.

Ball Mount Recommendation for a Polaris Ranger UTV with 2 inch Hitch
For a UTV a lot of guys like the part # C45009 which has a 2 inch ball and a clevis bar or the part # C45005 which has a 1-7/8 inch ball and the clevis bar. Both of these have a 1/4 inch rise.

The Curt Class III Drawbar - 2" Rise - 4" Drop - 13" Long - 7,500 lbs # C45270 is a longer ball mount with a 2 inch rise that will work well. The 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/4" Long Shank - Chrome - 12,000 lbs # 40038 would also be a great fit. You won't get the clevis bar with this option but it is the only upgrade from the # C45009.

What is the Distance From the Center of the Hitch Pin Hole to the Weld of the Platform, # C45009
On the CURT 2 Inch Ball and Clevis Bar Ball Mount, # C45009, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the weld where the fork is attached is approximately 3-1/2 inches. It may very between mounts because the weld may be larger or smaller between units.

If your MPT has a 2 inch trailer hitch opening then you might like the Convert-A-Ball multi-hitch ball mount # CAB-6W which has all 3 common ball sizes and the ability to accept a lunette ring, spade or clevis. Dimensions of Curt Ball Mount for ATV Hitches 45009
For the Curt Ball Mount for 2" ATV Hitches - 2" Ball and Clevis Bar - 1/4" Rise # C45009 I've attached a video that assists with the dimensions. It will be 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. It is 2-1/2 from that hole to the back of the shank. From the weld to the center of the hitch pin hole is 3-1/4 inches so from that point to the back of the shank is 5-3/4 inches.

The Curt # C45009 ball mount with 2 inch ball and clevis is not a vehicle specific item. If your 2015 Can Am Max 2-Up 650 has a 2 inch receiver hitch on it, the ball mount will work great for you.
