  • Bolt-On Simplicity: Installs and adjusts with standard tools - no welding or drilling required.

Features to know about

Stop Fighting the Wheel on Long Drives

You've had tough experiences while driving your rig. You white-knuckled when a semi blasts past and nudged things back on course through heavy winds. It's exhausting. With this stabilizer in place, the coach tracks straight instead of wandering and it cuts down on those constant corrections you have to make. It makes a huge difference when you spend hours on the road. When you stop fighting the wheel, you won't be worn out when you finally park.

Stay in Control When a Front Tire Fails

A front tire failure is a nightmare scenario everyone dreads because it happens fast and the wheel yanks hard. If you've been through it, you know how helpless it feels when the rig wants to pull out of the lane. That's probably when this stabilizer really matters the most. It helps hold the wheel steady so you can slow down and bring your coach under control. It won't stop a tire from failing, but it can keep that situation from turning into something worse.

Bolt-On Install with Vehicle-Specific Hardware

safe t plus bolt on installation

This stabilizer bolts on with hand tools and includes the mounting hardware for your vehicle. Once it's mounted, it has to be centered and torqued properly to work. If you're comfortable with those adjustments, you can handle it with some extra time. If not, we can help you find a trusted installer to handle the job. Either way, you only have to do it once, and it stays put.

I had to return it as I was told that it was not the right model. However, I had a Safe-T-Plus installed at the Safe T Plus shop in Georgia and it was the same as deluvered by you. This is what they install on a F53 18K 2023 as the V8 is very heavy

Roadmaster

Install was pretty straightforward, and can be done in a driveway or garage on the ground. It's not overly complicated as far as getting it in place and the adjustment to get it dialed in perfect is easier (in my opinion) than the roadmaster, and not hard to do. I would give it a 5/10 difficulty with that rating being slightly high just because you will be under the RV and it can get tight.

We have a 31 foot coach. The original equipment was wholly inadequate so we replaced the steering stabilizer with what I thought would alleviate the wild ride we were having when we were passed by a semi truck. It didn’t. Now we had the wild ride, plus it was constantly pulling to the left. I was constantly steering to the right to go straight.

The good folks at etrailer installed the Saf-T-Plus on our coach and it’s a whole new experience. No more fighting the wheel. I feel confident that we will go down the road without any more wild rides!

Also, the experience with etrailer was first rate before, during and after the installation.

  • Correct Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer for a 2019 Jayco Precept 29V Motorhome
Hey Joe! The White Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer # ST88MR is the correct one for your 2019 Jayco Precept 29V, and the Blue one, part # ST28MR, is for a heavier motorhome so I'd be afraid that using it could cause more harm than good. The Safe-T-Plus brand is new to us so I don't have a TON of experience with it, but from what I've been able to look into and gather it's a really solid system. If you wanted to go a different route, then the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer # RM-RBK22-RSSA...

  • Steering Stabilizer For 2023 Tiffin Open Road 36LA 26k F53 Chassis
Kevin, you nailed it - the blue Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR is the one built for 24,000–26,000 lb F-53 chassis like your Open Road. It’s tuned with a stronger internal spring to match the heavier steering load of those big Class A gas rigs. Once installed, you’ll notice straighter tracking, especially when trucks pass or in sidewinds. The mounting brackets bolt right up - no drilling or welding. Have you done any other suspension upgrades yet? That’ll help me suggest the best way to fine-tune...

  • What Is The Difference Between Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer ST28MR And ST88MR?
Good question, Rick. The # ST28MR blue and # ST88MR white steering stabilizer are tuned for different F-53 weight ranges. The blue version is for 24,000 lb + GVWR, while the white one fits 16,000–22,000 lb chassis. What’s your coach’s GVWR or model name? I can confirm which stabilizer is perfect for it. They come with specific mounting brackets, so they are not all interchangeable.

  • 2020 Forest River Georgetown 368x RV Wanders All Over Road On Windy Day
Alan, if your tires are wearing evenly and the alignments in spec, then yes - a steering stabilizer like the Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR is your answer. It keeps your steering centered even when side gusts hit or the road crown changes. Think of it as a shock absorber for your steering wheel - it smooths out all those little inputs so you can relax. Do you know if your rig is on the F53 chassis? It looks like it is, but if not, you'll need a different steering stabilizer instead.

  • Does ST28MR Steering Stabilizer Fit 2015 Newmar Canyon Star 3953 F53 Right Out Of The Box?
Yes, Bruce, the # ST28MR is the exact fit for your 26K F-53 chassis. It comes with the full mounting kit designed for that frame, so you won’t need to buy anything extra. You’ll notice a huge difference on crowned or grooved highways - the steering won’t “pull” anymore. Do you already have upgraded shocks or still factory setup? Pairing this stabilizer with better dampers really completes the feel.

  • Does ST28MR Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer Fit Newer 2021+ Ford F53 Chassis With V8?
Yes, Josh - the chassis geometry didn’t change with the new 7.3L V8. The Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer # ST28MR fits all 2005-up F-53 motorhomes rated 24K GVWR or higher, including the latest models. It’s a direct bolt-on and includes the correct bracket kit for the wider track front axle used on those heavier chassis. Are you feeling more wander or bump steer? That helps narrow down if you’ll benefit more from the stabilizer alone or from sway upgrades too.

  • How Does Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer Compare To Blue Ox TruCenter For F53 Chassis 24K +
Dan, both reduce wander, but they work differently. The TruCenter uses an air cylinder with a reset button - you push it to recenter the steering while driving. The Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR does that automatically with a hydraulic piston and calibrated spring, no buttons or air lines. It’s simpler, sealed, and completely maintenance-free. Once centered after install, you can forget about it. Have you driven a coach with either system before, or would this be your first stabilizer upgrade?...

  • 2008 Fleetwood Bounder 38P Class A Motorhome Is Hard To Keep Straight Even After Alignment
Nate, you’ve already done the hard part - the missing piece is a steering stabilizer. Your Bounder’s 24K F-53 chassis is a perfect match for the Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR. It automatically centers the wheel and reduces the steering play you’re feeling. It’s also maintenance-free and installs without any chassis mods. What speeds or conditions make the wander worst? That’ll help confirm how much difference you’ll notice right away.

  • How To Fix 2017 Winnebago Adventurer 37F On F53 Chassis That Causes Fatigue And Wanders On Long Trip
Cheryl, the Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR should be your first step. Sway bars handle body roll, but steering stabilizers fix that “wandering” feeling. This model keeps your wheel centered automatically, so you’re not constantly correcting on long trips. You can add sway bars later for even more stability, but most owners say the stabilizer alone feels like a new coach. Where do you usually travel - windy open roads or more mountain routes? That affects which upgrade makes the biggest impact first.

  • How To Prevent 2019 Jayco Precept 36T From Being Pushed Around On Highway By Semi Trucks
Michelle, absolutely, that’s exactly what the Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR was made for. Your 36T rides on the 24K Ford F-53, so this is the correct stabilizer. It keeps the wheel locked on-center so the blast from a semi won’t shove you across the lane. Installation is straightforward and takes about 90 minutes, maybe less. Do you typically tow a car behind? If so, you’ll feel an even bigger difference in control with this upgrade.

  • 2006 National Sea Breeze 8360 On 24k F53 Chassis Has Mind Of Its Own On Windy Day
Ron, it really can. The Safe-T-Plus # ST28MR is one of the most effective upgrades for that exact problem. It holds the wheel centered with hydraulic pressure, so gusts or ruts don’t yank you around. For older F-53 coaches like yours, this can make it feel like a completely different motorhome. Just make sure your bushings and steering components are in good shape and alignment is good before hand. Where do you travel most - open desert highways or mountain routes? I can help fine-tune...
