Installing and Removing SilentACT Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock

Question:

Looks promising and I see how to install it. But to make it line up with the cross hole in both the hitch and the shank of the bike rack, the spring nut has to go fairly deep into the shank of the rack. How do I get it out afterwards to use on a different hitch accessory?

It is actually not all that difficult to install or remove the Let's Go Aero anti-rattle hitch pin # SHP2082. In most cases you can reach in with a finger and pull out the spring and block portion. Otherwise a screwdriver would have short work of reaching in and pulling out the spring and block. I have linked a video to a product that uses the same system and you can see that installing it is easy.

What I do usually to take out the spring and block is to use the pin part or something similar like a screwdriver to nudge the assembly closer to the end of the shank making it easier to pull it out either by hand or with a screwdriver.

Please note this model is designed for 1-1/4 inch hitches. Most 1-1/4 inch accessories have a solid shank so they would not be compatible with # SHP2082. For an anti-rattle device that is compatible with a solid shank 1-1/4 inch accessory I recommend # RM-061-125.
