Hey Scott, this is a great question but the trailer jack weight ratings are actually the lifting capacity and not total trailer weight. So for example the Stromberg Carlson jack part # JET-5000 that you referenced can lift up to 5,000 lbs which is a lot more than what your trailer has for tongue weight so it would work great in that regard. Anything over the loaded tongue weight would do the trick but I would go with something rated a bit higher.

Typically the higher rated electric jack you go with the faster it will work since it won't be strained at all. Are you wanting something fast with a lot of features or something more economically priced that still works well?

Hey Scott, did you decide on a specific electric tongue jack for your travel trailer? I'm curious to know if you went with a higher-rated jack for faster operation or chose something more budget-friendly. Your experience could really help others in a similar situation!
