Best Bike Rack Option For Pedego Interceptor Bikes With Rear Battery Rack
Question:
Hello, Will the Kuat Piston Peo rack work with Pedego Interceptor bikes? I ask because the bikes have a rear rack that holds the battery and Im concerned that it may interfere with the function of the bike racks ratcheting tie-down mechanism. Thank you.

Hey Ray, thanks for reaching out. Looking at pictures of these Pedego Interceptor bikes, I also have concerns about these fitting on the Kuat Piston Pro # KU76ZR. There is a chance it may work, but the ratcheting arms may come in contact with the battery rack before it can be fully secured. We have never actually tested it with a Pedego bike, so the only way to know for sure would be to try it and see, but I have my doubts.
That said, if you don't want to chance it, there is a better option for your bike that is guaranteed to work for your bikes. Take a look at the Thule Epos Bike Rack # TH99XE. This uses wheel straps that go thru the bottom of each wheel, then it has a telescoping mast that can attach to the frame of the bike. For step-thru bikes like the Pedego, the clamp will generally attach to the seat post or handlebar post. The rear battery rack will not be an issue. It has a 140 lb capacity so it is plenty strong for carrying e-bikes. There is also an optional light kit for this rack, part # TH79XE.
