Question:

What base plate to you recommend for a 2024 Ford F150 Tremor? Does it interfere with the skidplates or bumper it is different than the normal F150. Thanks in advance.

Hey Michael,

Since you have the Tremor package I recommend going with a baseplate like the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e86YR that only replaces the tow hooks to avoid having to cut up your front fascia. If you haven't picked out the rest of your flat towing components then I have the following recommendations:

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so you won't have to purchase them separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. The head/shank has a built in tilt and rise/drop to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and F-150.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: If you have LED tail lights then you'll need the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM38FR. For Incandescent bulbs you'll need the # RM26FR instead. These kits would transfer your traffic signals from the motorhome over to the F-150's tail lights.

Braking System: If you motorhome has hydraulic brakes then you'll want the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. This will need to tap into the cold side of the brake light switch which isn't useable in your F-150 so you'll need to connect the indicator light from this system to the output of a stop light switch kit # RM-751000.

If your motorhome has air brakes then you'll want the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 instead. This activates the indicator light using a reed switch so a stop light switch kit wouldn't be needed.

Since the battery will drain while towing I highly recommend also installing a charge line kit # RM-156-25. If your motorhome doesn't have a charge line ran to the 7-way then you'll need the # RM-156-75 as well.
