Question:

I have a 2025 Buick Encore GX AWD. I have and am hoping to use the Blue OX BX4370 Tow Bar and a Blue Ox Patriot 3 Supplemental Brake. Will the Blue Ox base plate identified above (BLU 84UR), the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect Switch (RM-766), the Demco Universal Wiring Kit (DM9523010-54) and a High Low Adapter all work for a Fleetwood Discovery XLE 40M diesel pusher? What are your thoughts on this equipment, and are there any other suggestions/comments I pass along to the installer?

Hey Ron! Those parts are going to work great with your 2025 Buick Encore GX AWD. However, you're also going to need a braking system. Since your Fleetwood Discovery has air brakes you'll want the Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes item # SM99243. This is a proportional braking system that stops your tow vehicle with the same amount of force your RV is slowing or stopping with.

The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU84UR is custom fit for the AWD models of the 2025 Encore GX. The Blue Ox Ascent Non-Binding Tow Bar item # BX4370 is exactly what you need! It has a 7,500 lbs capacity and includes the necessary safety cables.

The Demco 4-Diode Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles item # DM9523010-54 will handle your wiring and allow your RV to control your tail lights. The Roadmaster Battery Disconnect item # RM-766 will make unhooking and reconnecting your battery as easy as flipping a switch.

As far as the high low adapter goes, the tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. You will want to measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, if the height difference is more than 3" above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. Will Blue Ox Patriot 3 not surfice for the braking system?

@RonS It would but I wouldn't recommend the Blue Ox Patriot item # BLU37TR with a brand new vehicle. If you're planning on keeping your Encore for a few years and you do not have another towed vehicle then you'll definitely want to install a permanent system like the Demco Air Force One item # SM99243. The convenience of not having to set it up and break it down each time makes it more than worth it. Additionally, you may want to check and see if your Fleetwood Discovery XLE comes prepped for flat towing. Some of the newer ones already have air tanks and hook ups installed. We have quite a few different kits if yours is prepped.

@JerredH Jerred, thank you for the input. As I already have the Blue Ox Patriot 3 supplemental brake system, I'll be using it for the time being. Since the Buick Encore GX needs to have the negative battery terminal disconnected for flat towing... which wiring kit to supply power to the Patriot 3 would you recommend?
