Hey Eva, the class I, II, and III refers to the size of hitch. So a class I hitch is going to be the smallest, with a 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" receiver, and the lowest capacities.
Class II also has 1 1/4" receivers, but can also have a 2" receiver like class III's. Class III's also have a higher weight capacity than a class II, and is the most common used size for hitch mounted accessories.
